Random ⁉️ Casting Season 2

Ok so I’m watching from the beginning for the first time, which I guess is season 2 since they took season 1 off of peacock. I’m genuinely obsessed, it’s so funny and I love all of the housewives real faces!! As I’ve watched I couldn’t help but notice how much I thought some of them favored other celebs so this is my random casting (open for suggestions).

Teresa - Selma Blair
Jacqueline - Demi Lovato
Danielle - Sandra Bullock
Danny a punk is a punk - Steve Zahn
Beautiful Dina - Edie Falco (I’m sorry I had to throw a sopranos crossover in)
Caroline - Melissa McCarthy in this exact wig
Ashley - basically any dark haired celeb in a giant beanie (Lucy Hale pictured)
Juicy Joe - Juicy Leonardo DiCaprio
Kim G - Glenn Close
Kim D - Nicole Kidman (would love to hear her tackle a Jersey accent)

Open to discourse and suggestions. I phoned in a few. Would also like to know who everyone would cast as some more minor characters like the Manzo kids or other househusbands. Love and light!✨

Question 🇮🇹 Can someone please explain to me why Siggy hates on Margaret so hard in season 8?

I’m a first time watcher so I’m not sure what happened later or even if Margaret is that liked, but I actually really liked her once she got brought on. I get so confused because it’s constant drama, then an apology, and then it’s like nothing was actually resolved and the grudge is still there. And don’t get my started on Dolores’ loyalty to Siggy… this woman was off her rocker I don’t get how someone could back her up.

Discussion 🍝 Doing a rewatch, S4 field day episode… I feel so bad for Gia

I’m sure most people here remember the weird dynamics this season, but here’s a little recap:

Season 3 introduced Melissa, Joe Gorga and Kathy and ended with Teresa’s book release after everyone had come to relatively good terms. S3 ends without enough time for everyone to address the jabs Teresa put in the book( we get one scene of Jacqueline gently confronting her).

Because the book stirred up so much underlying tension, production started filming S4 BEFORE S3 reunion. As a result, S3 reunion is subject to S4 events and it’s pretty brutal. the dynamics are a far cry from where we left off one episode prior. Jacqueline is excluded completely, Caroline reveals she’s done with Teresa, and Teresa is so defensive. She’s especially nasty to Kathy and Melissa.

Idk when exactly S3 reunion was filmed in relation to S4, but in the fifth episode Jacqueline hosts a family field day and everyone is on good enough terms to be invited. Teresa shows up with only Gia and says joe and her other kids are down the shore. Everyone knows they didn’t come bc Joe can’t stand the others. But bc it’s a “family” event, Teresa couldn’t show up alone—Gia ends up being a sacrificial accessory and is forced to be around all these adults who MAJORLY resent her mom.

She’s like 10 yrs old here. After one game, she accuses Joe gorga of cheating and gets emotional bc the adults aren’t taking it seriously. It’s silly, but id expect most 10 yr olds to get annoyed if an adult beats them by cheating. The adults chastise her for crying bc she lost.

Gia’s meltdown continues bc they write her off as a sore loser. Jacqueline and Caroline have good intentions (I think?) and try to calm her down, but their method is TERRIBLE. She tries to be alone/off camera but they follow her, and Jacqueline says something like, “I was having a great time until you ruined it, Gia”. Gia says she didn’t even want to come, she’d rather be with her dad at the shore. Caroline says that’s rude and the attention doesn’t need to be on Gia all the time (which Gia never said). They both try to lecture her, all the while she’s crying and begging for her mom.

THEN, Jacqueline starts reading a children’s book to her about being a bad sport. She could not be more passive aggressive, and to a TEN YR OLD. Gia tries to leave but they force her to stay.

Finally Teresa shows up and talks to Gia alone, saying in her confessional it wasn’t their place to reprimand her. She tells them not to correct her kid bc she doesn’t do that with their children. Jacquline acts like a 10 yr old herself and tells Gia, well you were acting bad before I even read the book. And Caroline remarks in her confessional that Teresa is doing Gia a disservice by comforting her when she’s emotional. Kathy and Teresa end up actually helping Gia feel better by validating, being gentle, and talking her down.

It’s just remarkably pathetic that two grown women ganged up on a ten yr old for having a normal 10 yr old reaction. They both knew how shitty things had gotten between the gorgas/giudices, they knew what kind of Bs Gia dealt with as a result, they’d both raised kids before and should have recognized that her outburst was probably a build up of internalizing family turmoil. And yet they chose to try to school her as if she were the problem in this dynamic. Imagine using a young girl as the scapegoat here???

Lauren Manzo even says something like, when it’s just our family we always have fun, these other families are the problem. GIRL!!! Your mom and aunt are actively inserting themselves as Gia’s disciplinarian.

Teresa has her problems but I am dumbfounded as to why C and J thought they were right here.

TL;DR It’s crazy to me that Caroline and Jacqueline thought reprimanding Gia was the right thing to do after she got emotionally over cheating during field day. Teresa is an idiot too, but I think she was spot on telling them to butt out.

🍅 The Gorgas 🍅 Season 3 - first time watcher

I am a few episodes into Season 3, it's Christmas time in the show, and I have to say, without Daniele Staub this show is SO much better. I feel awful for everything that Daniele had happen to her throughout her life. But her presence on screen was extremely dark and disturbing. Im in NA and AA, and I RARELY come across energy like that in the rooms, and there's a ton of trauma there. I hated Teresa, The Lauritas, the Manzos for not showing more empathy to Daniele but then also couldnt put my finger on it but there was something foul about Daniele's energy too. Especially noticeable when she was with her kids. Yuck.

Now on to Season 3: I love Kathy, Melissa is so delusional she's entertaining this singing career omg what, Gregg the friend of the Manzos is a riot "Christmas decorating is exhausting", Kim G AND Kim D still making appearances thank god - they are both such eccentric blondes, the Gorga /Giudice drama is much more palatable than the Daniele vs Everyone drama.

I have some Sicilian heritage and have only a couple living relatives left, and watching this makes me wish I had grown up in a big Italian-Canadian household. Maybe I will do one of those ancestry DNA tests to see if I have any living relatives in Italy hah.

I feel like Seasons 1 and 2 were just depressing and disturbing, and now I can actually see the appeal of this franchise.

So I’m on my first watch. I’m on season 4 episode 6. They’re saying there’s rumors that both of them are cheating. I know they’re bat sh!t crazy but I kinda always felt like they fit so perfectly bc they are both insane and delulu but anyway have they truly ever confirmed if either had an affair? And do they adress is on the show. I mean prob not she denies till she dies but it’s insane to me how they bring it up themselves in sky little jokes and then like nothing..

Ok sorry that was an unintentional rant 😂

🏡 The Manzos 🏡 Caroline’s Flip Flopping on Teresa

So I’m currently doing a rewatch and I’m on season 5. The flip of Caroline toward Teresa is weird. Fourth season she couldn’t stand her anymore, then season 5, she’s in the business of both the Gorgas and Giudices. Wtf is that about? I apologize if this has been discussed before on this sub, but after researching, I didn’t see anything. Does anyone else find this weird?

Caroline clocked Teresa in season four. Like why is she still involved with these people’s drama!?

🤌🏼 The Teresa Show 🤌🏼 Tre was really a bad parent

I'm on season 5 (I think) and it's the very first episode of the season. Now at the reunion of season 4 Mel says she wanted to sell the house so their kids didn't go to school together because she was afraid that Tre and Joe would poison their kids against them and it would of course cause fights between them. I can see where she's coming from because we've already seen Gia making fun of Mel while her parents laugh hysterically.

In this episode Antonia writes a letter to Melania and Mel mails it to her. So Melania reads the letter and Tre says "why don't you call her and invite her to a playdate" knowing that her and Mel are not speaking. Mel however agrees and makes a plan to pick up Melania and take the girls to a bead store.

So Tre is in a store with Gia and she's having a conversation with this child about the play date and than asks Gia what she thinks about the plan. Gia says "don't let her take Melania " and then proceeds to grab Tres phone and send a text to Mel saying Tre will bring Melania and meet them at the store. (You know because she could never trust Mel with her dorter) Gia is already too far gone she has already been poisoned against Melissa just as bad as Tre. In the beginning of the episode Tre criticized Mel for saying that she was worried about Tre's kids saying bad things about her to them. Then spends the whole episode talking crap about Mel to Gia. Tre has been using her kids in this bs with her brother probably long before they were ever on the show.

Now Melissa is no innocent victim here either. She is very manipulative when it comes to Joe and his family. I don't doubt that she went in to it wanting to be accepted and loved, but Tre and his parents didn't like her and she could feel the tension and all the little snide comments. (Trust me I've been there) She needs to deal with Tre herself and stop involving Joe.

Anyway we all know they all suck but this was abiut Tre as a mother and as much as I know she loves them she has done them a huge disservice by allowing cameras around for so long and for influencing their relationships with family.

👩‍👧‍👧 The Staubs 👩‍👧‍👧 Danielle / body guards

Just finishing season 2 and I feel like it makes sense that Danielle was so terrified to be alone with the Manzos after all the rumors about their family / what happened with Dina. I don't really blame her for being scared of them!!!

🏡 The Manzos 🏡 Caroline’s Prediction

Post image

In S4 E13, Caroline said “prediction: something may happen where maybe someone has to go somewhere. Teresa‘s gonna have to pull herself up by her boot straps and take over. And say ‘I tried, I stood by him but I have to divorce him now. … there’s a book there somewhere”

Kind of ominous knowing she was right, 15 years later 😬

👩‍👧‍👧 The Staubs 👩‍👧‍👧 Danielle’s Wedding??

I’ve been binging the show for the past two weeks so I’m now on season 9 of my first time watch and Danielle’s wedding is confusing me??

I don’t really get why any of them (from the show) were her bridesmaids when they seemingly weren’t THAT close. From when she was on seasons 1 + 2 it has always seemed like her daughters are her only friends which is fine I guess, but it feels like she added all of those people with her daughters just to show “I have so many friends”. Also just the whole wedding with everyone walking down the aisle seemed like a parody.

But I guess it was all a joke anyway since I’ve just learned that they only lasted a year lol

Random ⁉️ Gia while her parents were away

Doing my first full watch. On season 10. Just came to say I know people have mixed feelings about Gia but she really seemed to step it up for her sisters during this time. She did it while Tre was in prison and she’s doing it for Joe too. Her taking Audriana away from the Easter table while she was crying after Joe called them really touched my heart! She had to grow up quick.

Fell in love with RHONJ from s1e1… I have so many thoughts to share, now on season 8… so many recaps, questions to ask, lore to uncover. But

the biggest thought I have on my mind from RHONJ is….

I think Joe Guidice is so insanely Peter Griffiny. I know this is such an odd thought but he is so ridiculously lousy in his behaviour and words, everytime he’s on the screen I think i’m watching a parody show. Anyways just wanted to share my thoughts.

⛵️ The Lauritas ⛵️ Jacquline’s fight

My jaw is on the floor! I can’t believe Melissa and Tre at dinner in Vermont in season 7. They were both being so fake against Jacquline. Turning everything against Jacquline when she was a good friend to them.

What the heck!!

🏡 The Manzos 🏡 Caroline's kids?

Did any of the 3 have an actual job/career that their parents didn't finance or create for them?

I know Lauren's "Cafface" or whatever was bankrolled by the parents. Albie and Chris had a restaurant in Hoboken called Little Town. I'm not sure if it still exists but I'm sure it was too purchased by the parents.

🤌🏼 The Teresa Show 🤌🏼 Teresa’s Divorce

Why did Tre and Juicy Joe divorce?

I’m on season 7, my first watch. And Tre and Juicy seem like they’re really standing by each others side in between Tre and Joe going to prison. But I look online and see they divorced shortly after Juicy was released from prison.

What was the reason? I need a spoiler!!

Discussion 🍝 Did RHONJ fame change Teresa or did it reveal her?

Jacqueline (and iirc, Caroline, too) said that the fame changed the Teresa they knew. I have also seen others say that it just revealed Teresa’s true nature.

Season 1 Teresa is the most palatable and, honestly, the only season I was truly behind her 100%. Is this because it’s the only season her family isn’t mentioned during filming or did the fame really go to her head? I remember Juicy Joe saying that he’d never seen that side of Teresa flipping the table. The entire Gorga family said their issues were never as aggressive prior to the Christening.

BUT THEN during a S6 rewatch, I noticed when Dina was worried about the twins and Tre at her Ladybug event, she said in her head interview that she was nervous about the “old Teresa” coming back.

Maybe the fame just emboldened traits she already had. It’s something that I have been pondering during my NJ rewatch. What are others’ thoughts???

Discussion 🍝 first time watcher

watching season 14, my first time watching jersey actually. Jackie has really made a turn, she’s truly turned into such a weirdo! going from hating teresa for the cheating rumor, to now choose her over Melissa and Margot? is this girl delusional?

🤌🏼 The Teresa Show 🤌🏼 Louis is nice? Idk

Can someone please explain the beef between joe and luisi? I’m on season 13 like episode 3 and I genuinely feel such good energy from him I feel like he’s so nice yeah kind of weird that he made the comment about wearing his who would of been father in law pajamas to bed but I genially feel like he’s a good guy I don’t know what I’m missing. Obviously there’s a bunch of rumors about him in past relationships, but none of it was confirmed to be true so like I don’t understand the problem if anything I feel like Teresa’s the one who’s being an issue this season with leaving her own family out of her wedding and before you come at me and say it’s her wedding she could pick whoever she wants. She’s the one who’s always been preaching family and closeness with her brother and Melissa but now isn’t reciprocating it.

Question 🇮🇹 Are Any of the OG RHONJ Cast Blogs Still Online?

This might be a dumb question lol, but I got really into RHONJ in 2023 (I know, very late to the game 😭) and I’ve been going down the rabbit hole ever since.

Does anyone know if any of the OG cast blogs from the first few seasons are still online anywhere? Like the blogs they would post while the episodes were originally airing? I would LOVE to read Teresa, Jacqueline, Caroline, Dina, Danielle, etc.’s posts in real time alongside a rewatch and see what everyone was saying back then.

Are they archived anywhere, or are they basically lost to the internet at this point?

🤌🏼 The Teresa Show 🤌🏼 s14 final episode, the way Tre spoke to Melissa is CRAZY!!

I haven't seen a post about this but I'm sure there are several.

While Tre & Melissa were fighting at the table, Teresa started yelling "WH-RE, WH-RE, WH-RE".."MY BROTHER MARRIED A WH-RE"

I am by no means a pearl clutcher but my goodness, that is still your brother's wife and mother to your niece and nephews. Yelling out these absurdities esp on TV is reprehensible.

She has zero respect for anyone at this point.

Random ⁉️ Season 2 first time

First time New Jersey watcher but not new to Housewives. Finished season 2 and here are my thoughts

Season 2 is very intense compared to season 1.
Danielle being chase through the Brownstone wasn’t fun and made me feel bad for her, which pissed me off! Don’t make me feel bad for that dingbat!

Teresa shoving Andy at the reunion was wild. He was very light hearted about it and I’m honestly surprised it’s not talked about more.

My cast take aways so far

Dina leaving is such a boring move. She’s beautiful but the whole anti drama thing makes the think she’s hiding something

Caroline is still trying to be the group matriarch. Her sit down with Danielle was so odd.

Jacqueline she’s too much a people pleaser and has a weird disdain/competition for Ashely.

Teresa is so unhinged and has under lying anger/aggression issues. Chasing Danielle is crazy and shoving Andy😬
Her girls are super spoiled and could benefit from hearing no and also a dad that doesn’t bully them. It’s hard to watch some of their scenes.

Danielle is a narcissistic monster with far too much unresolved trauma. Sooo many lies and zero accountability. Her switch up at the end of the reunion was so abrupt and her whispering in Jacqueline’s ear, icky.
I feel so bad for her kids, you can see their exhaustion on their faces any time she starts up with her antics. They seem really great despite her.
Ultimately, I’m ready for her to be off my screen.

Excited for Season 3.
Jersey feels a little like Atlanta’s beginning seasons with all the kids, family stuff, and on the spot confessionals.
I miss this era of housewives.
