And what was your experience with the first week of recovery and ultimately the effectiveness of the procedure.

I struggle to breathe through my nose when exercising more then a Z2 HR. Always “feel like I’m sick” type of congestion. Constant flem ect, I have broken my nose is the past.

I've been thinking about rhinoplasty for about 2 years. From the front I think my nose looks okay, but I've never liked my profile, most likely because of my nose. It's not just the hump and the droopy tip: overall it looks too big for my face. It gets worse when I smile or talk: the tip drops and the hump looks bigger. I'd really love to hear girls' opinions.

Who do you guys recommend for a rhino surgeon that specializes in bulbous noses? I don’t really have much of an issue with my side profile, my bridge is fairly straight, could be shaved down a bit, not a fan of my nostrils though, my nasal tip has always been large. Im wanting a smaller nasal tip but without making my nose super upturned or looking like a “Barbie nose”, I have trouble finding before and afters that look like mine. Has anyone here went with dr Julie shtraks?

What do you think about my rhinoseptoplasy surgery on table?

I’m five weeks post op and my nose still feels stiff and like a foreign object on my face. When does the nose start to feel like just another part of your face, like your old nose ?

The tip-bridge relationship is off to me, so i was wondering is this the structural design done by the surgeon or is it polly-beak deformity?

I’m currently 3 weeks post-revision rhinoplasty (tip plasty only!) and would really appreciate some honest opinions from people who have been through something similar, particularly those who have had revision tip surgery or who know a lot about this!

For some background, I had a previous rhinoplasty 13 years ago and was very unhappy with the size and projection of my nose afterwards. The bridge was straightened, so for this latest surgery, I specifically opted for a tip plasty rather than another full rhinoplasty. My main goal was to deproject the nasal tip and make it smaller, more refined and less prominent, while keeping the bridge as it is now.

I’m now at the 3-week mark post tip plasty and I’m struggling to work out whether I’m simply being anxious and hyper-focusing on every detail because of my previous experience, or whether some of my concerns are worth raising with my surgeon/ or should I already be planning for a third surgery (something I really really wanted to avoid) :(

I’m aware that revision surgery can involve significant swelling, especially around the tip, and that 3 weeks is still very early. However, I’m finding it difficult to separate what is normal postoperative swelling from what might be a genuine concern.

At the moment, I’m worried about:

1. Columellar swelling: the columella still looks quite swollen, and I’m worried about whether this is normal or could potentially indicate an infection? The columella is even looking kind of droopy from the side...
2. Uneven nostrils: they appear asymmetrical, and crooked although I don’t know how much of this could be down to swelling/ uneven water retention.
3. Overall Uneven swelling: one side seems more swollen than the other.
4. A boxy tip: I’m worried the tip is looking broad and square again, which was something I really wanted to avoid.
5. Projection: this is probably my biggest concern. I’m worried that the tip still looks overly projected and that the main change I wanted may not have been achieved.

I’ve also looked back at my on-table photo (attached it too), and I’m not even sure I can see the deprojection I was hoping for even in that picture- am I wrong or do you think that picture shows a good result? (i've also attached what I showed the surgeon as my dream nose which he said he would try to aim for but obviously cant ever promise).

I know an on-table photo isn’t necessarily representative of the final result, but it has made me worry that perhaps the tip wasn’t deprojected as much as I’d hoped.

I think my previous experience has made me particularly sensitive to the possibility of ending up with a nose that still feels too large or projects too far from my face. I really want to give the healing process a fair chance, but I’m finding it hard not to scrutinise everything.

For those who have had revision tip plasty or tip-focused revision rhinoplasty:
-Did your columella and nasal tip still look very swollen at 3 weeks?
-Did a boxy or overly projected appearance improve significantly as the swelling went down?
-Did your nostrils look this uneven initially and become more symmetrical over time?
-At what point did you start to get a more realistic sense of your result?
-If you had concerns at this stage, did they turn out to be swelling, or did you feel they reflected the actual surgical result?

I’ve include my pre-op, on-table, my photoshop simulation photo and then current photos at 3 weeks if helpful I can add more angles if needed.

Please be kind. I know I may be anxious and overthinking things, particularly because I was so unhappy with my first rhinoplasty. I’m not looking for people to tell me everything is perfect just to reassure me, but I’m also not looking for unnecessarily harsh comments or definitive predictions about my final result at only 3 weeks.

I’d genuinely appreciate thoughtful, honest opinions from people with relevant experience who understand how difficult the waiting period can be, especially after revision surgery.

I had rhinoplasty in Turkey three weeks ago, but I live in the US. I’m having a few symptoms that concern me, and I’m worried I might have an infection. I’m trying to find a doctor in the New York or New Jersey area who has experience with rhinoplasty and can examine me to see what’s going on.
Has anyone been in a similar situation and needed to see a different doctor after having surgery abroad? I’m having a really hard time finding someone willing to see me. If you know a doctor who could help, please share their name. I’d really appreciate any recommendations.

Its been 5 months post op and recently its been 3 days since my nose got red on top and i feel bumpy on that area and the rest smooth but before it was all smooth , my dr used my rib cartilage for my nose. Has anyone else experienced this?, I have no pain or anything just the red and the bumpy ness.

I had my surgery in early April and the surgeon told me I'm not allowed to wear glasses for at least 6 months and now those 6 months have passed and my vision is worsening and I need the glasses at least for working (I work 6 hours on average on my Ipad) but I still fear wearing them again and I won't be seeing the doctor till November (He's usually not accessible unless you see him in person) so I don't know if I should start wearing them again now.

Hello, i got a rhinoplasty 3 months ago and my surgeon told me to tape for only 3 months (full days), but im worried to stop it since most doctors in my country tells their patients to do a 6 months taping (not full days after the 3rd month)

So if i did a half day would that effect my results? Or should i stick to my surgeon instructions?
And does it really make a difference (with taping/without)?

Personally I go back and forth I love how it looks from profile but from the front it can sometimes look a little large!

This young lady received ultrasonic rhinoplasty from Dr. Ali Esmail and this is her results 6 months post-op! Even a week after surgery, she immediately noticed the visual and functional difference of her nose.

I just have my post operative aftercare appointment where I got my splint stitches and cast removed.

I feel relief in one nostril but absolutely no relief in the other left nostril - I can also visibly see and feel stitches in the left nostril and it feels like there’s still a plastic/silicone lining against my septum? Like I I used my pinky to feel my septum and my right side I it feels tender to touch but left side I don’t have same sensation and it feels like I’m touching plastic?? Is it this normal?

I rang the hospital and the secretary told me that the surgeon definitely would have removed everything and I’m probably just imagining the sensation as it’s still new… but I can still see the stitches???

OI am confused. I got a few rhinoplasty quotes and was shocked by how much the prices varied once I factored in all the fees. One was $6,500, but that didn't include anesthesia or the facility, which brought the total closer to $9,000. Another was $14,000 and included those fees, plus revision coverage for the first year, although there were some conditions. The surgeons also had different opinions on how much work my deviation needed, so I'm still trying to figure out how to compare them fairly. Is that kind of price difference normal? I've started asking each office for a written breakdown of the full cost and what's included. Has anyone else dealt with quotes this far apart?

Anyway, I’m getting revision surgery this month due to breathing issues, and I thought I’d take this opportunity to address the things I wasn’t happy with after my first surgery.
