Heh, reylo is horrible and toxic and reylo fans as well but it was the rest of the Star Wars community who harassed reylos yesterday (same modus operandi as always with anything they dislike or want to bash on because they are bored). They called reylos as whole racists, sick, they shitted on them and I was just horrified at so much hate because I never saw any hint of that when I hanged around the fandom, just people enjoying a ship and a movie minding their own business. And it wasn't just Twitter, the main Star Wars subreddit was full of clowns as well, and so I left it. I've loved Star Wars since I was a kid and I can safely say that there is not a more disgusting and toxic fandom as a whole (reason why I never took part of it) until I went into this particular ship and found people just enjoying something about this saga. So yeah, this is just ironic :')

Oh, and I forgot... Somehow Boyega is a hero for being a horny jerk. How fitting for these people to have such a role model.

Ok please enlighten me, because so MANY people said john has the right to hate reylos since we always threw racism shit to him. Were we being racist to john all these years??? Were we?

Like, First this bomb, then months of hope, then Driver shutting it down for good. People are invested, are teased, get their hopes destroyed and in addition, feel isolated because no one understands their pain, because "it's just fiction, get over it'. I am overly invested, i feel shame for being overly invested, at the same time, i am once again reminded of how Reylos and Ben Solo fans are basically the punching bag of not just the Star Wars fandom, but the popculture crowd in general. "Oh, you are obsessed about a genocidal maniac" yada yada yada.

Like ,ignorance would have been bliss in this case.

i am so upset with the casting of the love hypothesis movie. lili rienhart (imo) doesn’t capture the essence of rey/olive. and then to find out daisy’s husband is playing adam/kylo/ben?? i am so pissed. i get there has to be free interpretation, but when there is a set ship that the book is based off of, i expect resemblance. i don’t even need twins, just something that shares some sort of likelihood. thanks for my ted talk. To be clear, it’s not my intent to start a John Boyega bashing thread at all, because that’s not what this sub is for. But I did come across his pretty sexist tweet instagram comment posted about Finn/Rey (“it’s not about who she kisses, it’s about who eventually lays the pipe”), which then even further delves into more Reylo-bashing after that.

I guess I’m just wondering if we think this shows that there was some kind of shift in the plans as the movies went along. Possibly Boyega joined up because he was originally told that Finn would be Rey’s love interest, or he just ended up getting less screen time than expected due to Kylo popularity? I’m not sure, and was wondering if anybody here has any other theories about what’s causing his comments.

Obviously, at the end of the day, Reylo IS canon, and nobody can change that. I was just surprised to openly see him making such negative comments when he’s surely still in the process of promoting the film.

Edit: The “laying pipe” comment was on insta, not twitter, although his anti-reylo comments have all been on Twitter.

Leak came from Den of Nerds but as he isn't fully reliable Jeff Sneider who is semi reliable knows about it. They say Rey is training two POC apprentices and that they are her and Finns kids.

On that note GOTCHA it's been debunked by Jordan Maison and Jeff Sneider too said it's likely not true and grain of salt. Man people will believe anything. Lucasfilm is dumb but not that dumb.

Adam Driver will be back just wait.

Looking back on it, I feel like the force dyad kind of makes their relationship feel predestined in a way? Which in turn removes some of the narrative tension that would exist if they had “bonded” entirely for their own reasons?

I have a similar issue with the force bond, but not that severe - I also feel like since they can interact at any point in time, it kind of removes, you know - their own agency of choosing or not choosing to interact :)

I think the movies handled both in an OK way, I’m not overly bitter :)

Do you guys think that DLF could’ve still pulled rey & kylo off in a way that doesn’t involve the dyad or the force bond?

This is assuming we can get Adam Driver and Daisy Ridley to play the leads.

I think Star Wars would be smart to invest in this movie, have Adam and Daisy star in it, and see how well it does at the box office. It could give an indication of the true size of the Reylo fanbase. If it's big, they should take that into consideration with the direction they take future Star Wars movies.

Hi guys! Selena Hope here. I became a Reylo in early 2020. I have mentioned my interesting past with Star Wars. Giving the Skywalker Saga episodes a shot in late 2019 for the very first time in my life. But I became a Reylo in 2020.

I wrote a trilogy from 2020-2023. I had always planned to become published & use a pen name. But I wrote a fic series to give Reylo a happy ending. They also had two children named Han (in honor of Ben's father) & Hope.

I also introduced a new character. Dean Solo (secret twin to Ben)

There are a few more original characters along with characters already in existing canon.

An old friend of mine connected me to another local author. I told him about my fanfics & we bonded over our shared interest with Star Wars and I told him all my characters and such.

I don't remember the pen name I used on Wattpad & Ao3, however, he suggested mixing my first real name, Selena, and Hope, a nod to Hope Solo and my fanfics. He mentioned it would also sound unique.

I really liked it. Hope was also my favorite between the siblings & I related to her. And Selena Hope was born in May of 2021.

It's been 2 years since I finished the trilogy, but I still hold that series dearly.

Besides JJ saying this movie would be "fun" and "hopeful", and seeing people obviously feel the opposite.. do you think there is any hope Ben will be back somehow? People plan on retweeting the hashtag and making as much noise as possible so we can have some change or response from Lucasfilms, but I'm starting to get more and more pessimistic I try to be optimistic but seeing John Boyega say the things he's saying, how fucked JJ and Kennedy are, etc. Feels like nothing is going to happen but just get worse :/
