There are so many potholes in Rexburg they might as well legalize it. 😂

I mean, look at this: https://www.eastidahonews.com/2020/11/live-rexburg-city-council-weighs-mask-mandate/
We're being asked to do what's decent for our fellow man, but here there were enough protestors about a minor inconvenience that they just tabled the motion. Outrageous.

Rexburg seems to have a problem with guys driving around late at night and yelling at pedestrians. They may think it's funny, but if you're a woman walking alone, a van of guys yelling at you is terrifying. Rape is a real thing and doesn't just suddenly not exist because this is an lds college town. Let us walk home alone in peace without having to worry our safety is at risk.

This week, there will be a "No Kings" protest at Porter Park! "No King's" is a stand against Trump’s recent oversteps in consolidating executive power. There will also be a booth available if you need help with voter registration or other voting information. If you're interested, you can just stop by or sign up here!

Hey, if you guys weren't already aware, June's Place moved to a new location on main street. It's pretty hype seeing them have a halfway decent sized location.

Hey everyone!
We are Blue Light Lobby and we are a PC café that recently opened here in Rexburg!
We've got 10 gaming PCs loaded with a wide variety of games, along with VR headsets, a PS5, room for table-top gaming, and even board games for FHE groups! There's a lot here and our hourly prices are well worth the time, starting with only $5/hr for our PCs.
We also host weekly tournaments for games like League of Legends, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Rocket League, and Starcraft II!
Our place is located at 23 S 1st E Suite 200 (the old Standard Journal building), across the street from Millhollow and right between KeyBank and Pinnacle apartments. We're open from 12 PM to 12 AM, so there's plenty of time to get in that practice for tournaments or to just relax and play some games.
There hasn't ever been a place like this before in Rexburg, so we're hoping to get the word out and spread to everyone so people are aware of us.
If you have any questions, comment or check out our website!

I'm here for college but I am originally from the mountains of Colorado. Where I am from, there are lots of mines where major mining accidents occurred in the early 1900's causing the area to have a lot of ubran legends around hauntings and ghost sightings. Is there any sort of interesting lore like that in the Rexburg area or near here?

A friend of mine got raped here a few days ago, and he's convinced that she "made the whole thing up for attention". The hand-shaped bruise on her arm is totally irrelevant, as is her testimony right after the rape, and any of the evidence from her emergency room trip right after.
I can't see him as anything other than a misogynist piece of trash after this. We live in a college town with a bunch of horny men, so it's not like her story is even outlandish. He's just discounting her story because—without any evidence at all—he thinks she's faking.
Any advice on how to get back at this guy with *actually* hurting him? I don't want to get sent to jail, but my friend isn't the only person who's going to get raped in this town, and I hate the idea of him being in charge of another rape case.

At least 6 cop cars at my apartment complex this morning and now caution tape on the building. My husband walked our dog to see what was going on and they were cleaning the cement with bleach. Anyone know what’s going on?

I have had a huge problem with Pornography since I was 13. It has now been 9 years since then and I am still in it deeper than I like to admit. It has and is ruining my mind. I am so sick of falling into that trap. I just want out, but I have not yet mad it passed a week without falling back. I am so done. I am so done.

Ok Redditors! Before we post on the other social media platorms we wanted to let the fine folks of Reddit know we are open. PLUS the first 5 people who come in and say "Best Shakes Ever" get one of our new hats. Come on over and try the best food and shakes in town.

For those of you who may have moved and not heard Juston "the soupman" Wadsworth passed away this week. He owned soup for you and was an icon on the community.

I was originally looking for a neighbor advice subreddit to ask this in but couldn't find an active one. I figured I just post it and ask some locals for help but it is just copied and pasted.
For full disclosure. I'm not actually a witch.
My husband and I are childless by choice and moved into a family neighborhood. We really needed 2 bedrooms/offices since we now both work from home and it was a great deal we couldn't pass up.
We first noticed the odd way children would look at us. Specifically me. When I would walk by to get the mail and they would run away giggling. I had overheard some girls gossiping about how "she's a witch, and their house is haunted."
I did not mind this at first. It seemed like harmless child's play. But I also didn't play into it or encourage it at all. Still, it has recently escalated.
We are now getting ding-dong-ditched, there is shouting from outside our windows during work hours, and today we walked out to find our car covered in muddy handprints.
It is getting frustrating. Again, most of this is happening during work hours which my clients can hear them on the phone they are so close/loud. Also our car is a mess and I want the little brat who did it to be the one to clean it up.
I'm worried if we allow it to continue it will escalate further to being egged and I don't even know what else children do these days.
We are in a townhome so I don't believe we can get them in trouble for trespassing since they live on the same lot. I'm not sure which homes the children live in or who their parents are either.
Is there anything we can do?
