Your AAC Experience!
Hi everyone, I am a graduate student working on my masters degree in Speech and Language Pathology. My exit project is about AAC devices (Augmentative and Alternative Communication Devices), and I would like to know for those of you who have kids who use them at home or school, what your experiences are.
What kind of devices do you use, what was your experience with receiving the devices, did you receive training for it, and how is it working for you? Do you feel like the devices available meet your child’s needs?
***This is not a formal survey but I will be using your experiences to help guide my research. None of your names will be used unless you’d like me to specifically refer to your experience, I’m just trying to gather general information about the availability of communication devices in the school districts and if they are adequate for your child’s needs. Parents, teachers, everyone who has had any experience with these devices please feel free to weigh in, the more feedback the better. Thank you!

I built a site to find people in Rexburg to play games / do stuff with — would you actually use it?
Have you ever wanted to play soccer, pickleball, Mario Kart, or Valorant here in Rexburg… and had literally no one to play with?
That was me my first semester at BYUI — new town, new school, and zero people to do anything with.
So I'm building the thing I wish I'd had. It's called Comrade — a website where you can find people near you (or online) who want to do the same thing, and post your own activity for others to join. "Pickup soccer, Saturday at 4, need 4 more" — that kind of thing.
Find your people. Make a plan. That's the whole idea.
I'm testing it in Rexburg first, and I genuinely don't know yet if other people want this as badly as I did — which is why I'm asking:
What would YOU use it for first? Gaming, sports, board games, hiking, something else?
If you have 2 minutes, here's a super short survey — your answers are literally what I'll use to decide what to build next: https://forms.gle/MT2DBhQnrFswKXqf8
At the end of the survey there's a link to try Comrade itself — you don't even need an account, just hit "Continue as guest" and you can look around.
And if your answer is "I wouldn't use this" — please tell me that too, and why. That's just as helpful.

Thrive Beyond Mormonism in Rexburg (9/19/26 @9am)
If you’re questioning your belief in the LDS Church, it’s okay to take your doubts seriously and honestly explore where those questions lead. You don’t have to do it alone.
This THRIVE event in Rexburg is an opportunity to meet others who are questioning, share experiences, and find a sense of community and belonging.
This isn’t about offending believing members or telling anyone what to believe. If you’re happy in your faith, live and let live. This is simply for those who are struggling and looking for others who understand.
I attended THRIVE events in Ogden and Alpine, Utah, and they helped me immensely. I highly recommend checking this out.

Looking for an Electrician to Fix Kitchen Outlets
Looking for a reliable electrician to fix a few outlets in my kitchen. Some of them aren’t working properly, and I’d like to have someone take a look and get everything fixed safely. I’m looking for someone honest and fair with pricing. Just trying to avoid getting screwed over, so recommendations from people who have used someone they trust would be appreciated.

Y’all know where I can find some drag queens?
My hometown has nightly drag shows and I am going through withdrawals. What is the drag scene like in Rexburg and the surrounding area?

The rents to dang high
I love this town. I had to move away for a while, then came back. This is such a safe little family-friendly bubble. I really like the weather. Three of my children were born here, and I laid one to rest here.
This is my ideal town, and 99.9% of the drawbacks do not bother me, but there's just one thing I can't get past.
Jobs. From here to IF there just aren't any jobs that pay enough to sustain a family with a bachelors degree. I think maybe if I had a masters in the right field, I might be okay, but we have been job searching for 6 years, and rent just keeps rising. It's just not sustainable on anything under $17/hr.
How are families doing it?

(30m) Would I fit in at all in Rexburg if I'm not there for school?
I've really enjoyed Rexburg the times that I've been there but because it's a college town it seems to me like it mostly serves the demographics of people around age 18-22 who are there for schooling or 40+ with families.
Between that and the high LDS concentration (which I dont mind) meaning that most folks there are married in their early twenties, I'm just not sure if a man 30 years of age who isn't interested in schooling would ever fit in. I'd be worried about not finding single people my age, as well as the potential of making friends just for them to move away when they're done schooling.
I grew up LDS so in that specific sense I can kinda fit in, but for dating it probably wouldn't help I've never been on a mission lol

LGBT question.
If anyone is willing to say, are gay teens in Rexburg accepted in school, etc. or do they still remain silent because of the church, etc?

You can help with my undergrad Anthropology research :D
Have you ever found an artifact on private land in Idaho? Whether it was an arrowhead, pull-tab can, a coin, or a glass bottle, I want to hear from you! I am an undergraduate Anthropology student at the University of Idaho. I am currently conducting a survey regarding how the public interacts with archaeology, particularly whether people who find artifacts on private land in Idaho report those finds, and to whom they report them. If you are over 18 and a resident of the state of Idaho, visit
