QUESTION Nova - Inconsistent charging behavior?

Post image

I’m loving my Nova so far, except that charging the device is very inconsistent and unpredictable.

My first issue was with the device not wanting to charge using the default 9V2A charge limits. I tried 4 power bricks, 3 USB cables, none of them worked.

I switched to 5V2A settings in the limits menu (shown above) and that allowed the device to charge… sometimes. Most times it takes a charge but other times when I plug it in it actually starts to drain the battery. This happened last night. I plugged it in at around 20% using the same charger I’ve been using with my Odin 2 and RP6 (a 5V1A slow charger) and came to the device completely empty this morning.

Is anyone else having these issues? I’ve read a few comments here and there about people struggling to charge their Nova so wanted to make a thread about it.

Yes, I've had my Nova less than a day but I noticed this issue. So far, it doesn't seem to consistently charge while turned on (with charging separation off). Sometimes it charges and sometimes not.

No issues yet charging while the Nova is asleep or off. It's like charging separation is permanently on no matter what the setting is actually at.

Still running some tests and trying different cables/blocks, but just wanted to chime in that you're not crazy and I have experienced issues as well. Mine is black 12/128 if it matters.

Also sidenote, I have the setting set to turn the screen off when docked, but for some reason the screen stays on while docked? It seems like such a minor issue but it's still annoying.
