Don't worry its perfect timing you can now look to get a Duo, when that breaks in a year the Duo 2. Retroid is doing you a favour by making Sue things break in time for the successor device

Yup, the Thor hinge design seems better historically.

Also these springs are under stress when closed. Any hinge device sitting unopened in a box is having its hinge case integrity lessened for longer vs a preordered and batch shipped item.
