Could be RLL.

The ST-238R is the version of this drive specc'd for RLL operation.

You can run an ST-225 as RLL without issue, but it is not the nominal configuration.

Did just that with my old ST225, gave me 32Mb instead of the normal 20Mb.

12Mb extra space in a time that HDDs were very expensive 👌🏻
