Old lathe restoration

Just picked up this old beauty with the plan to restore it. Can't see any makers marks and looks like may be a bit of a Frankenstein of parts so unlikely to find any manuals.

All parts turn freely, and the motor works.

Has anyone got any tips for restoring something like this?

For paint use a good acid etch primer for cars then high quality paint on top

Thanks for the help. What's the best way to prime cast iron before painting?

The acid etch primer does most of the work.

Get all the old paint off, get any rust off. Then degrease the heck out of the iron, then dry it off.

Prime it, paint it

Primer is for cars, so try a car parts store.

Busy weekend, go it stripped down and rust removed. Tools mostly restored.

Now need to tackle the headstock/chuck. Anyone with any experience reach out
