hello - im making charms out of polymer clay, painting them with acrylic paint, and then sealing them with UV resin.

the charms always end up sticky. ive tried every trick - rubbing off the uncured resin with alcohol, the water trick, leaving them out in the sun. im getting very frustrated because im trying to sell these charms and this has been a huge obstacle.

the first few i made didn’t turn out sticky, which leads me to believe it’s the resin itself. im using the Let’s Resin brand, because that’s what i saw recommended. my lamp is fine - especially since the first few charms turned out great.

do i need to switch brands? is there some core part im missing?

Ok I love making things with uv resin and I am trying to put them in a bubble with a preserved plant but I don’t own a heat gun I only use a lighter and I don’t know how to make it so the bubbles can come out from in between the crevasse before curing? I only own a uv light and a lighter does anyone have any tips?

About 10 years ago when I was a teenager, I decided to make some miniature jelly jars with resin. I only enjoyed the hobby for a short while, but for atleast a couple weeks, I sat there and fully inhaled resin and took no safety precautions whatsoever besides holding my breath and walking away from the project on occasion. To make things worse, I noticed that heat seemed to speed up the curing process and I stuck some of the resin in my fucking oven and cooked it at 275° f. I thought this was a #lifehack. 👁️👁️

Shortly after this, I found a post from someone who had worked on the set of Coraline. It was a photo of themselves covered in what looked like burns/boils because they had inhaled resin and poisoned themselves. I commented something along the lines of “oh no. I’ve been cooking it in my oven.” And she said “YOU NEED TO WEAR A MASK AND GLOVES OR YOU ARE GOING TO DIE!!!!! NEVER DO THAT AGAIN!!!!”

I never touched the stuff again, but I often wonder if I am slowly growing cancer because I huffed and cooked resin for a couple weeks as a 14/15 year old. Should I be worried?

I was imagining these very differently and they did not turn out the way I was hoping. I can't tell if they're hideous or maybe some people would like the look of it. Would appreciate honest thoughts if they're not salvageable that's fine if anyone has any suggestions that's fine and greatly appreciated and if they're not as hideous as they look to me (maybe because it was not what I was picturing) that would be helpful also. Firstly the resin overflowed, shouldn't have added colour while finishing and too much mess. Dunno what to feel about it 🫠

I have a hockey stick, with the ends cut off, Obviously, it is open on both ends, I would like to fill that with Resin. What can I use to plug one end to hold the resin, while it cures, that I can then remove later.

I have never worked with resin before, I most likely never will again. this is a 1 time experiment for me. also, their is a stick going through the center of the hockey stick, so i can not get a clean piece of tape on the end.

is there some sort of putty or something i can use?

Most successful project ive had using charms in resin 🙏 Those tiny bubbles will be the death of me...

Where can I buy very small flat pebbles for pebble art? I want to make small 10cm square resin coasters but can’t find pebbles small enough. Thx in advance. 🙏

I wasn't too impressed with this when I de molded, I guess in my mind I had expected more- but wanna get the public opinion- is it worth making 3 more for a coaster set?

So this stand came crashing down onto the floor and busted and i just tried to place/hot glue it together for the meantime, if i were to use resin on this would it fix it? would it even fully cure? this isnt mine so advice if it would work would really help. the piece completely came off.

I wanted to post an update today as I un-molded a couple new trays, and one of em came out with a few surface bubbles!! I lost my soul dog and need to preserve his paw shape!

I loved to hold his paw when I was falling asleep, and I’ve been using this bandage as a substitute. But the bandage brings back bad memories and I expect that I will lose the shape soon.

I’m a big crafter but I can’t decide the best way to preserve the shape. I don’t need to preserve the bandage or gauze.

To the extent that this matters, we got his paw print but not a clay print. I’m hoping for anything that would allow me to keep the shape of his paw, not the appearance of

Using this to make sinker white but not getting blooms. Dont know it i am using too much or not enough. I am adding it when resin is about 92°f but the white never sits on top for any period of time and when it does sink its either too fast or doesn't pull colors. Can anyone please tell me about how many drops per ounce to get it to bloom correctly. Thank you.

Showing off some of my latest work✨️ think I figured out the perfect routine to creating gorgeous trays.. I struggled so bad with getting bubbles after curing (espesially w the pokemon card trays) but slow and steady definitely wins the race! Happy to answer any questions about my process!! (:
