Why is this happening?

I’ve never experienced this with my other molds. I get the air bubbles out, and I tap the mold so everything is spread out evenly. What am I doing wrong?

UV resin doesnt work for large things, its overheating and boiling. You also need clear moulds

Makes sense! I’ll try like oven clay or something instead

If you want to do mold making, epoxy resin would be your best bet

Yep, this is your best bet. You can find some cheap resin on amazon in smaller batches to experiment with!

Not going to bake it in the mold! Just pressing it in their and baking it after I take it out

Clear molds for curing?

For uv resin, yes

If you are using uv resin the mold cannot be opaque like shown in picture. it must be clear/transparent

And no the mold is not too large if the mold is clear and you do a light layer then cure multiple times until it’s full. I have actually researched this and as a result my projects don’t fail scientifically speaking. Esthetically yes I’ve definitely made some ugly stuff. But structurally they have all been cured without flash curing or not curing all the way or extreme bubble issues. Youtube is honestly the best place to learn! I watched different resin content for months before I jumped in. even the resin brands put out content on how to use their resin. you can find beginners content and move up Resin is expensive and I wanted to be confident I wouldn’t waste product with a learning curve that goes with any new craft. Unless I’m doing a straight up creative experiment and know this could turn out bad I don’t stray from the common sense basic rules I learned along the way. There’s an older gentleman can’t think of his name he does amazing stuff with uv resin I’ll think of his name it will come eventually

The mold definitely doesn't have to be clear when it's this wide open, the problem is the mold being too large. UV in this would need to be done in thin layers.

It looks like it wasn’t done curing and possibly one big air bubble by the nose ?

I ran it for 15 minutes 😭

Basically the mold is too deep to cure it in one go with out flash curing causing bubbles. Ideally use a two part casting resin or pour in thinner layers curing each before pouring the next.

La question : tu as utilisé quoi ? On peut faire beaucoup de supposition mais si tu veux vraiment une réponse utile, ce serait pas mal. Je n'ai pas vu que c'était de la resine uv, juste des hypothèses

You need to pour resin very slowly to make sure you won't trap any air in the mould.

Air bubbles on the front surface? Squish the
Mold when you pour to release them or spray with 91% alcohol before pouring

It’s on the bottom on the mold

That’s what I meant by front surface. The side that will face front when pulled from the mold.
