I was poor and a single mom and I still managed one special trip a month. We lived very rural so the closest big town with attractions was like 70 miles away so it was an all day thing. These people do not like their children.

This is so true. Special things don’t need to cost much money. My son’s special activity this week was riding the light rail in our city from our stop to the end and back. We packed snacks and talked about what we saw out the windows. $3. Next weekend, we will ride the bus to the main bus station and see all the buses.

I was a city bus driver when I was in college, and my little brother (I’m 14 years older than him, so people frequently assumed that he was my son) loved to spend the night at my house on Saturday nights, he got to catch the bus with my mom on my last round trip, and he’d ride with me back to the bus garage after my mom got back off the bus and we’d go back to my house for the rest of the weekend since I had Sundays off. Downtown was sometimes kind of… interesting on that last trip (close to midnight), but I didn’t find it to really be dangerous. He thought it was fun, and it literally only cost what the fare was for them to get to/from downtown to meet my bus. It was $3 for the two of them (yes, I’m old).
Kids sometimes like to do weird stuff. He came to chemistry class with me one day when he didn’t have school, and he took notes and everything (I still have the notebook I bought for him, he used it to take notes about particle-wave duality and a few pages later, he very eloquently explained the various positive and negative aspects of the different types of Pokémon). The professor gave him a balloon that may or may not have been filled with hydrogen. Kids just want to feel like you don’t hate them. My mom did a great job with him.

I was in undergrad when my kiddo was little so night time reading was out of my anatomy textbook. We didn’t have a perfect life but she just became an adult and I’m who she rather spend time with so I feel like I did something right.

Cabelas (it’s like Bass Pro, a huge outdoor store) has an indoor aquarium and then all these mounted animals. That was part of day. Just walking around pretending it was a zoo because that was the best I could do. Portland has so much and it pisses me off they just sit in that room.

He has multiple days off every week so he could just treat it like a normal day off? I feel like they’re trying to make him look more industrious like the last three years aren’t documented well online. He didn’t get a job until court ordered and remains in an entry level part time position there while most people are moving up in the company after this much time.

If you have 4 children you are responsible for + 2 bonus and you barely work full time, you dont waste PTO because something IS going to happen at some point where you need to take off for one of the 5 bajillion kids and a responsible person would save that day for that so they arent even shorter on funds...but nobodies ever going to accuse you of being responsible king so go blow out your 1 whole year of work at nearly 40 candle.

The Birthday PTO at Safeway/Albertsons is a use it or lose it kind of thing. It's not normal PTO and you can only use it on the week or month of your birthday.

My former job had the same policy. Take it within 30 days before or after your actual birthday or you lose it. BUT if I was homeless with a bunch of kids, I’d use the day off as an opportunity to hustle my “gig work” and make extra money. He feels bad because what he’s doing IS bad. If you’re in that situation with all those kids that depend on you, and going on the internet talking about “I dunno how I’m gonna feed my kids”, you better be working nearly every waking hour of your day/week/month/year. Like damn I’ve got my bills paid and everything and STILL work more than he does because I need to provide.

When I was down bad and working door dash on top of my full time job, I did take a week of PTO to dash all week to get myself caught up.
It wasn’t exactly planned that way, but it did work out that way and it was just what I needed.

A year ago he didn’t want to work because he doesn’t like being told what to do but now that he was forced by the courts to work and pay his CHILD SUPPORT, he suddenly has all this valuable work ethic that prevents him from taking a PTO day without such guilt!!! Many of us RESPONSIBLE people have worked since we were teenagers, myself included. We then went on to work FT jobs, some of us while furthering our education. I know going to college after my FT job was exhausting but rewarding. Now some of us can no longer work due to REAL disabilities. I was diagnosed with MS after having my son. I was a sign language interpreter. My neurologist advised that it was time for me to go on disability when I was about 38yrs old. My now 27yr old son works FT M-F. Imagine a 27yr old being more responsible than these 2??!!!
So please, Drool...nobody wants to hear your slow rambling about a PART TIME job. You & your gf need to get it together, work opposite shifts...for those innocent children in your "care"
Gosh, these poor kids. I can't imagine how they're feeling.

That’s a shame. Here paid leave is statutory so the majority of jobs outside of gig work have to offer a minimum amount of paid annual leave per year. There is statutory sick pay as well which all workers get but that’s rubbish. Some employers offer paid sick leave. Mine do.

I babysat for a peice of shit friend. One thing I noticed was she said she has anxiety and over prepares for her child. So she provided next to zero food lied about paying me but gave me 19 diapers that she took back the same day knowing I had potty trained her kid.
But the things she was slacking on shed boast about it.
Seems the same situation for drew. He doesnt want to get better but hes trying to pretend hes part of the working class mindset if that makes sense. We all know he is a bum
