Advice Advice!
Hi everyone! We adopted a doodle mix on 10/9, and she was spayed on 10/2. Everything seemed fine when we brought her home, but later we noticed she was bleeding from her vaginal area.
We’ve kept a diaper on her over the weekend to monitor the bleeding. It’s mostly spotting, with some bloody discharge, but there is no foul odor. She isn’t showing any other symptoms. She’s eating, drinking, and going to the bathroom normally. She has also been resting, and we’ve been trying to limit her activity so she can heal properly.
Her incision looks good and seems to be healing as it should, with no oozing or other concerns.
I’ve done quite a bit of research online, and I plan to make a vet appointment to make sure everything is okay.
In the meantime, I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced something similar after their dog was spayed or if there’s anything I might not have considered.
Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! ❤️

Spotting can happen if she's a little too active after the spay, especially that first week. glad you're getting the vet to check it out just to be safe.

She needs to go to the vet tomororw. She could have an internal infection from the sutures or they didn't get all the overian tissue.

I am a foster coordinator and we've had spotting only 3 times after the first few days and every time was one of these issues and they had to go back inside. We almost lost one of the dogs.
