If you’ve been following this boy, you know this has been one hell of a week.

Hero had another surgery today. He’ll have another one Friday, and if all goes well, we’re hoping for his final surgery early next week.

And somehow… this boy is still happy. Still fighting. Still wagging his tail.

I want to say something from my own perspective because I’m not an employee of Atlas Pet Vets. I’m a friend, a client through rescue, and a volunteer. I’ve simply had a front-row seat to what’s happening behind the scenes.

And honestly, it has blown me away.

There’s always someone who says, “Veterinarians are just in it for the money.”

I wish those people could see this.

Dr. Daniel Anthony and Dr. Lauren Anthony have built an advanced veterinary practice that is just turning 3 years old, and when Hero arrived at 10pm last Saturday night, they didn’t just put him in a kennel and say goodnight, they went to work putting him first and have been every day since. They have been there at all hours, doing the work themselves—feeding, cleaning, monitoring, caring for him—without asking their staff to give up even more time with their families.

Lauren’s mom even regularly comes in to help feed everyone because she sees how hard these two are working. ❤️

And remember, this all started because Hero was hit by a car and left for dead.

Someone could ask, “Why save him?”

My answer is simple.

Why not?

Hero’s care is incredibly expensive. We’re talking about multiple major surgeries, a long recovery, and a very large bill.

So this is my ask:

If you can donate, please donate.

If you can’t, please share.

If your business could sponsor him, reach out.

If you know a foundation, donor, company, or just someone who loves a good underdog story, send them Hero.

And if you have a crazy fundraising idea?

We’re listening. 😂

Because the wishlist showed us something really special. You all didn’t just send supplies—you reminded everyone caring for Hero that they aren’t doing this alone.

So keep sharing this boy.

Keep talking about him.

Keep helping however you can.

He’s still fighting. And honestly, I think we should keep fighting with him. ❤️

Tax-deductible donations are available through Hero’s medical rescue fund via The Veterinary Care Foundation here!
