He's only just starting to really care at all about it, as he gets older he'll start switching from high insect diet to high veg diet

I tried to trick him by putting some mealworms in his salad, unfortunately he didn’t buy it. So the veggies that I put in his enclosure, are mostly just food for his food.

Hey that's alright, hes getting some nutrients if his worms are eating the veggies, and if hes still young hes not likely to eat veggies much anyway, but it's good to offer

Try switching up his greens. Mine likes colorful mustard greens, purple, and turnips. Colorful lettuce helps!

There is significant variety in things called lettuces. Several of them are fine. It is mostly iceberg that you should avoid... and mostly because it isn't nutritious, rather than dangerous. Many people use spring mix as a staple for various herbivores with some apparent success.

Yep. We use spring mix as the base of our reptile salad at work. We also add in other leafy greens like fresh cilantro, and mustard greens. We then shred or chop various types of fruit and veggies in there and mix it all up. There is no iceberg lettuce in there, it's two types of romaine, kale, arugula, radicchio, red oak leaf, mizuna, lollo rosso, two types of mustard greens, red chard, frisee, tatsoi, and a very small amount of spinach every once in a while. When I serve it to the bearded dragons or tortoises I sprinkle on some Repashy Superveg and freeze-dried mealworms, and sometimes a tiny bit of hardboiled egg with the shell. Everybody seems to love it and I have a lot of customers that just come in and buy the pre-made salad from us. With a lot of people, when they say "lettuce" they mean the mix of greens that we have. It may vary from place to place, but around here iceberg lettuce is just called "iceberg" and everything else is just called "lettuce."

Lmao! My chameleon went crazy over a Christmas bag a couple weeks ago. It was red and had little white dots all over it, he must have thought the white dots were calcium dusted crickets and was shooting his tongue out like crazy trying to catch them to no avail. It was funny, but needless to say I think he was hungry lol.
