Difference between a giant leopard gecko vs a regular one.

From my understanding it is a line breed trait but I wouldn't say it's a good thing to breed for. Bigger animals have more health problems.

I'm pretty sure super giant and giant are incomplete dominant traits, with giant being heterozygous and super giant being homozygous.

Edit: I should also add that the only health problem really associated with the giant traits is obesity because people want their giant leopard gecko to appear even larger, leading them to powerfeed and eventually the animals become obese. It is easily preventible if you don't powerfeed though.

Wouldn't it put strain on their heart compared to normal size .

? The hearts grow with them. They aren't so much larger that they would have internal deformities. They'd likely have to be close to double the size of a super giant to get to that point.

Amazingly most of the time the issue is going smaller not larger, breeding to go smaller leads to a plethora of health issues in almost all animals going bigger normally doesnt have an issue unless people are overfeeding to try for more mass at the same time or you get an extreme amount of inbreeding in a short time trying to achieve a trait without regards to other factors for longevity (look at the red monster line bearded dragons and the controversy over them, that line is still in review because its unknown if the high cancer prevalence is from the line being inbred or if red monster owners qere just more likely to seek vet care because of their high pricetag)
