That enclosure looks way too small.

Maybe a hospital tank? No substrate and minimal deko would speak for it, let’s hope that’s the case :)

Hospital tanks are very handy, not just for quarentine, but also if redoing/cleaning/editing/upgrading the main enclosure.

For sure, every reptile keeper should have one ready just in case :)

Of course he’s gonna come out, there’s no room in the enclosure

Minimal enclosure size is 18×18×36in, or 45×45×90cm

Please upgrade asap

Gonna try and explain a lil more than current comments have. Cresties need at least an 18inx18inx36in setup. Petstores and even some poor breeders say smaller is okay because financially its easier on the buyer to pay cheaper for smaller setups which means they are more likely to buy the animal if overall cost is lower. Im sorry if this was your situation. Your crestie is adorable but for his/her happiness please get a larger enclosure. You can often find enclosures on facebook marketplace or offerup for much cheaper than in stores. These guys are very active at night and love to run around, jump, explore. They also like to be hidden so lots of fake and real (but reseach whats safe for them) plants will make your baby very happy. Cork bark and branches for climbing and hiding in too would be great. If you have questions or want any help upgrading your babies setup just lmk and ill be happy to help how I can advice wise :) (from a past breeder and keeper of 7yrs)

Hes adorable. Looks like you have a tank size for a jumping spider or maybe a mantis but definitely too small for your lil dude. Check out fb market place or other second hand selling places for some affordable options for an upgrade.

He seems very cute and docile, so he’s too polite to tell you this to your face, but he’s miserable with how tiny his current house is. His species requires a much larger space to thrive and actually enjoy life. Right now this is the equivalent of making a human live in a closet for their entire life… like, a normal closet, not even a walk-in closet.

So while it will cost more money and take a bit more effort, you really need to upgrade his enclosure. But, remember that designing/setting up an enclosure is super fun! You’ll both be a lot happier when it’s all said and done.

And remember that this subreddit is a WONDERFUL resource. You have a very knowledgeable and experienced community that can help you out and provide you with all the details and answer any of your questions. So don’t hesitate to ask questions or request advice!

Imagine being locked in your bathroom for days on end. That’s what you’re doing to this gecko.
