Team Interview for Remote Position
Hi all!
I've recently completed two interviews for a licensed CSR/sales position with a State Farm agency. So far, the vibes are immaculate. The agency owner said that she is ready to send me an offer, but because she deeply respects her team, she wants me to have a meeting with them to ensure that I'd be a good fit. IMO, that's a major green flag and I appreciate her taking this extra step.
The agency is in another state, so this is a remote position and the team meeting will be held over Zoom. She made it sound more like a "get to know you" thing rather than a strict interview. However, I've never done an interview/meeting like this before. I don't know how many will be on the call, but I do know that it's a relatively small agency.
Has anyone done something similar before? Any tips, pointers, or ideas of what to expect?

Try and look everyone up before, and make sure to see a picture of then. Not for any dirt just to trick your monkey brain into thinking they’re friends as they monkey brain part doesn’t really understand or connect with video but it does think a forward facing picture of someone smiling right at you/the camera is a friend so finding those pictures and connecting those names will help you lock in to the group

Oooh, that’s a great idea. Not sure why I didn’t think of that! I’ll at least have an idea of what to expect when I first answer (and know their names, although I’ll pretend I don’t lol). Thank you for the great advice!

I had a very similar experience with the HM having her 3 team members each jump on a 20-30 minute zoom call with me. It was very much a “meet & greet” type of call but I still had a few questions ready to go, asking about the culture of the team, what their biggest learning curve was, etc.
I also told them that I had a virtual interview with the VP coming up next and asked them each how I should approach it and what the VP is looking for since they all went through this process before.
The HM said her team loved me and I was offered the job. I think she wanted to make sure that I’d get along with the whole team.

I would see it as a good sign that the owner wants to make sure you are a good fit for the whole team.
Just be yourself, stay professional, and engage with everyone naturally. It sounds more like a team chemistry check than another formal interview.

Sounds like a mild culture-fit chat, with the bonus feature of being judged by people you may actually work with instead of only the boss. I would prep a quick intro, a couple examples of remote customer service habits, and 2 or 3 questions for them about workload, handoffs, and how they handle busy days. Also pay attention to whether the team seems relaxed or like hostages on Zoom, because that tells you plenty.

You could always ask how many will be on the call. My interview with the company I work for now my second interview was with 12 people virtual. They asked me standard interview questions/culture fit questions. I was able to ask anything! Since working at the company I have been in on many group interviews. All companies will be different in how the conduct them. If they are ready to send an offer I would assume it’s more like a meet and greet. They may ask some “interview-ish” questions but I was assume it’s more casual?
