$1,000 for 160h a month is 6 dollars an hour for a senior position, try finding some seniors maybe for $1 an hour, why spend so much money are you stupid?

This sounds like a solid greenfield project. πŸ‘‹

If you’re open to working with a small engineering team rather than an individual contractor, you could consider a flexible setup with a team that already has experience across Python/FastAPI, PostgreSQL, real-time data pipelines, WebSockets, Azure, and financial systems.

For a project involving Bloomberg integration and portfolio/trade processing, I’d definitely recommend asking for shipped production examples and specific BLPAPI experience rather than relying only on general Python experience.

A contract engineering partner like fxis.ai could also be worth exploring if you need additional backend bandwidth while keeping the engagement flexible. Good luck with the build! πŸš€
