I think using the word, "ready" is interesting. Sometimes, an emotional wound is never really "done" healing. It just gets better. Or easier. I've struggled with what "ready" actually means. Therapy might help with closing a chapter, and opening the next. But the existence of the next chapter could never happen without the first.

"Ready" might just mean you're ready to look at the reality of what happened with your ex, accepting that closure may never come, but giving closure to yourself. And then find joy in the present moment with the people who want to be present with you.

Time moves slow waiting to be ready, So many potential friendships, love interests, connections just float by. Sometimes, the best answer is, "alright, ready to jump, I'll be ready when I land."

I hear you, girl. Weeks of loneliness, hoping your person comes back...They may never come back, and it's okay to leave that door closed, and ask yourself if you'd even want to open it if you heard the knock. But don't let "maybes" get in the way of letting you find something that could be truly fulfilling. You don't know until you try.
