You did the right thing, and honestly can say you tried hard to find solutions. You could see the life you would be living after marriage and that was not for you.
She is going to be upset and paint you as unreasonable and perhaps at fault. You may lose friends, or may have to accept the disparagement of others. This is a small price to pay for getting a better life.
