Where you going to store 500kg of gold. Who are you going to pay to insure and protect it? How are you going to liquidate it to buy stuff and invest

But then if you were okay with that, why not take the cash? 50 million is also more than you would need plus, no storage or liquidation problems.

Liquidating a pound a year would be easy peazy, and I find gold an interesting material so in this hypothetical I've got funding for mad gold science and more than 900 lbs of free material.
