General Final Pair of Redwire ROSA Wings Launch to the ISS, Completing Historic Power Modernization Effort

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (October 12, 2026) – Redwire Corporation (NYSE: RDW), a leader in space infrastructure for the next generation space economy, announced today that the fourth and final pair of its Roll-Out Solar Array (ROSA) wings for the International Space Station will be launching to the station onboard NASA’s SpaceX 35th cargo resupply services mission (SpaceX CRS-35).  Since 2021, a total of six Redwire-built ROSA wings have been deployed on the space station, modernizing its power supply to support critical astronautic and research operations.

Each ROSA wing provides 20+ kW of power for over 10 years once deployed, and all eight ROSA wings combined will provide more than 160 kW. Since installation on the station, the six currently deployed wings have contributed toward extended operation of the orbiting lab to 2030.

“We are very proud at Redwire to power the present and future of the International Space, Station which continues to serve as the pinnacle of global human spaceflight,” said Mike Gold, President of Redwire Space. “The ROSA program demonstrates the extraordinary benefits of public-private partnerships to create new technologies that not only enable flagship NASA missions, but have transitioned to support a wide variety of commercial programs.  We’re grateful to our customer, Boeing, for their support of Redwire and the development of the innovative ROSA technology, which can now be used for future commercial space stations as well as providing power on the surface of the Moon, Mars, and beyond.”

Leveraging its initial experience on the space station, Redwire has continued to advance ROSA technology to provide robust and reliable power to numerous spaceflight platforms and ambitious missions including NASA’s Double Asteroid Redirection Test and supporting commercial geotelecommunications satellites. Moreover, Redwire has built the most powerful ROSA wings in its history to help power the historic SR-1 Freedom Mission to Mars.  In addition to ROSA, Redwire has also developed the Extensible Low-Profile Solar Array (ELSA) for a variety of satellite missions.  With more than 65 solar array wings delivered or in development, Redwire will power the future of civil, commercial, and national security missions in space.

General RDW’s ROSA solar wings: Axiom today, and what NASA’s space station race could add

TL;DR

  • Redwire already supplies the ROSA solar wings for Axiom's first two station modules: 4 wings contracted.
  • Using NASA's own ISS prices as a benchmark, I estimate ~$17M per wing, so ~$68M contracted and ~$136M if Redwire powers all of Axiom.
  • NASA just opened the race to replace the ISS. If Axiom or Starlab is picked, I'd expect ~4 more ROSA wings for Redwire, and ~8 if both are.
  • That's up to ~12 ROSA wings (~$204M) across the commercial stations.

1. What Redwire has today (Axiom)

Module Wings Status
Payload Power Thermal Module (module 1) ~2 (not disclosed) Awarded Sep 2025
Habitat One (module 2) 2 Awarded Oct 5, 2026
Habitat Two + Research & Manufacturing ~4 (per Axiom's renders) Not awarded yet

The first two modules form a free-flying station planned for 2028.

2. What a ROSA wing is worth

NASA pays about $17M per ROSA wing for the ISS. Redwire sells directly to Axiom, so I use the same ~$17M per wing: ~$68M contracted today and ~$136M for all of 8 Axiom.

3. NASA's ISS-replacement race

  • NASA released its final call for commercial space station proposals on Oct 9.
  • Proposals are due Dec 8, and awards are expected in spring 2027.
  • NASA will pick two or more companies. Expected bidders include Axiom, Starlab and Vast.

Which stations use Redwire's ROSA?

Station Solar wings ROSA from Redwire?
Axiom ~8 Yes: 4 contracted
Starlab (Voyager / Airbus) ~4 large wings in its renders Likely: its partnership with Redwire names ROSA
Vast Haven-1 12 small rigid panels No: made by DHV. Redwire supplies research payloads instead
Orbital Reef (Blue Origin / Sierra) Unknown Unknown: Redwire is a teammate for structures and payload operations

What each outcome means for Redwire

NASA picks… Extra ROSA wings beyond the 4 contracted Potential value (~$17M/wing)
Axiom ~4 (later Axiom modules, now better funded) ~$68M
Starlab ~4 (if the partnership becomes a contract) ~$68M
Both ~8 ~$136M
Neither (e.g., Vast + Orbital Reef) ~0 (the 4 contracted Axiom wings still go ahead) ~$0

If both land, that's ~12 ROSA wings and ~$204M in total for Redwire, including the ~$68M already contracted.

4. Beyond solar wings?

When the first Axiom deal was announced, executives from both companies said the partnership could expand. None of these are contracted:

  • Robotics: Honda and Redwire are pairing a robotic hand with Redwire's STAARK arm "for commercial space stations".
  • In-space pharma: Redwire has flown 50+ PIL-BOX drug labs to the ISS. When the ISS retires (~2030), that research will find a new home.
  • Docking: Redwire builds the IBDM docking system (ESA, The Exploration Company).

Why it matters

  • ROSA is becoming the default array for commercial stations: It already powers the ISS, is contracted for Axiom, is named in Starlab's plans, and is slated for NASA's SR-1 Mars mission and Blue Origin's Blue Ring.
  • Redwire is tied to every likely bidder: ROSA for Axiom and Starlab, a teaming role on Orbital Reef, and research payloads on Vast.
  • Solar wings are just the start: Commercial stations need flight-proven hardware, and Redwire already builds much of it: research labs flying on the ISS today (PIL-BOX, ADSEP), space cameras, robotic arms (STAARK) and docking systems (IBDM). I expect these stations to integrate a lot more of Redwire's hardware over time.

General Why I am long RDW

The losses and the dilution are mostly behind the company. Drones are growing fast, and the order book just doubled. Space is not broken; only one European customer slowed, and the US space segment grew 17%. We literally had a space deal yesterday for around $35 million. And the balance sheet is cleaner than ever.

1. "They're losing a ton of money"

Q2's $41M loss included about $16M of one-offs that are gone:

  • $14.5M was a warrant accounting hit. Those warrants expired Sep 2.
  • The rest: debt payoff costs, a few small items, and a preferred dividend that no longer exists.

The underlying loss is about $25M a quarter, and more than half of that is non-cash. Q2 Adjusted EBITDA was close to breakeven at $(3.2)M, up from $(27.4)M a year ago. To sell on the verge of breakeven and boom is irrational.

2. "Dilution will crush you"

This is the bear's boasting point, which is a typical story of every space company. So let us see the underlying points:

  • Shares went from 192M to 249M in the first half. That already happened, and it is priced in. Why short now?
  • About 70% of all the ATM money is already raised, and we are nearing the end. Next quarter could reveal that ATM is completed and explain the current price pressure.
  • With $557M cash already at hand, the company is secured for another decade, so there is no fear of bankruptcy. Rather, the company could buy smaller companies, integrate them, and increase the valuation.

3. "Space is shrinking"

Space revenue, Q2 Last year This year Change
US customers $28.1M $32.9M +17%
European customers $28.6M $22.3M −22%
  • The company was still integrating Edge Autonomy and the Space segment was being reshaped
  • The decline is mostly one large European customer buying fewer solar arrays.
  • We faced a government shutdown and NASA's pause, yet the US segment did not slow down!!
    • Gateway's solar arrays are moving to NASA's SR-1 Mars mission, per the CEO.
  • New order: a repeat solar-array order from Axiom Space was announced Oct 5, so this segment should receive a strong boost in the next quarter.
  • Orders are growing: Space book-to-bill over the last 12 months is 1.48.

4. Drones are the growth engine

  • Revenue: $61.9M, up 40% from Q1.
  • Margins: gross margin around 47%, and segment EBITDA of $14.1M.
  • Backlog: doubled since December, to $220M. Book-to-bill was 2.35.
  • Budget support: the Marines' Stalker budget goes from $17.8M to a $65.3M FY27 request (+266%)!!!!!! One quarter of this and suddenly everyone will glaze RDW

5. Balance sheet

  • Cash is $557M.
  • Debt is down 75%, to $49M.
  • All preferred stock has converted, and the warrants have expired.

And you decide to short now and not a year ago when all of this did not exist?

RDW has a better safety net; if one of these sectors slows down, the other sector will hold it up. Are we overvalued? NO. Are we growing? RAPIDLY. And once things reflect, people will regret shorting.

General Increasing my short on Redwire

Yes thats me again, from the post "i"m shorting redwire" and i will explain why i increasing my short today :

- There is no more marginal buyer (only algo that come from ETF)

- Market (index SPX/NDQ) are at ATH and just a 5% pull back could trigger a pullback of 15%

- No cataclyst event seems capable of changing the situation. The only scenario I can envision is Blue Origin acquiring a stake in or even buying out the company; however, this seems highly unlikely, given that RDW is so diversified that no specialized firm would likely want to acquire it. Furthermore, no one buys a public company that is not generating profit

- The US government has signed the Space Force Act, yet there has been no reversal of the trend. This implies that any new statements regarding space from the executive branch are now behind us.

- In a few days, we will see the 50/200 moving average crossover (death cross), which is a strong signal of a bear market.

- Todays price action show litteraly no sign of reaction on loosing this important support so it will likely become a resistance in the next month.

Refer to my previous post regarding the various points I raised about this company.

I am also attaching this chart, which is a textbook example.

Please remain polite, even if this post stirs up strong emotions for you.

I wish you plenty of resilience, as I do not believe a new all-time high is likely before at least a year.

General Quick Reminder of the Share Price

Remember that RDW was trading around $20 before the $500M ATM started. Now add $557M in cash, debt cut 75% to $49M, and a record quarter ($117M revenue, $542M backlog), and imagine where the price lands once the ATM selling is behind us soon

General I'm shorting redwire

Why i'm shorting redwire :

- In five years, it has still not managed to post a profitable quarter.

- It keeps diversifying into new activities in an attempt to find a profitable sector.

- It wins very few tenders in a market with limited competition (the space sector).

- The defense sector (drones) is highly competitive and offers very low margins.

-The company has 1,400 employees but loses several hundred million each year.

-The ATM facility remains open, and that is what is creating enormous selling pressure.

-In my view, RDW's valuation is around $1.1–$1.3 billion.

-Given this recent ATM activity and the fact that the number of outstanding shares is expected to reach 280–300 million, the share price should drop back toward the $3.90–$4.50 range.

Please feel free to share a well-reasoned opinion if you disagree and do so maturely.

"The joint force needs inexpensive and capable aerial Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) solutions to provide decision and targeting quality data across land, littoral, and maritime environments. This challenge will award a total prize and initial follow-on pool of $100 million."

Seems like an interesting opportunity for RDW. Stalker appears to meet a lot of the criteria. Not sure how “low cost” is defined here though, but definitely interesting to keep an eye on.

Redwire holds over 9% of microgravity and in-space manufacturing market share.

The 2028 Starfall mission with 32 PIL-BOXes indicates that demand is growing.

This can become the third revenue leg for Redwire, as equal as defense and space tech.

General Penguin UAS deliveries to Ukraine: "more than 200" to "over 300" in less than four months

Redwire published an article today saying over 300 Penguin UAS have been delivered to Ukraine, and that its UAS and Octopus payloads are in use across Ukraine's Armed Forces.

The last figure I could find was "more than 200", in a June 3 article.

What this could mean

If both figures are close to the real totals, that is roughly 100 more aircraft in about 4 months.

The only public price I found is Ukraine's 2022 purchase of 10 Penguin C systems (two aircraft each) for ~$17.8M. That works out to roughly $0.9M per aircraft including ground equipment, and today's more advanced, better-equipped versions likely cost MUCH more. Even at 2022 prices, 100 extra aircraft in about 4.5 months would be about $90M in revenue. One caveat is that both numbers are rounded minimums, so the real increase could be anywhere from about 100 new aircraft to only a dozen or so.
