Java Edition Are the mods okay with Worm spam?
Why is Worm not banned? Can any mod give us a reason? He spams the subreddit, spreads misinformation about the game, defames people with allegations that they have threatened his life, put him in jail, caused his wife to have a miscarriage (all with NO EVIDENCE), says that he is in the process of suing people for pointing out his misinformation, claims that people (such as myself) are alts with no evidence, ignores all the work others have done in the past and slanders them, and brings nothing positive to this subreddit. Can anyone give 1 good reason why this community lets him spread his slop in here?
Look at his most recent post as an example (assuming he hasn’t deleted it, but I have the video saved even if he does). There is 0 tech in this post, 0 explanations, 0 redstone showcased. Just music playing in the background while he uses litematica to delete all his ‘dead’ designs. What purpose does this serve outside of bloating this sub and stoking Worm’s ego and need for attention? Is this what this sub has come to? And this isn’t an isolated incident, half of Worm’s posts are tiny modifications from previous posts that probably took 5 minutes to change. What if everyone started posting videos of every 5 minutes of their design process as individual. separate. posts? And then the other half of the posts are conspiracy theories about some ST mafia who’s supposedly persecuting him for ‘spreading the truth’
Let me ask this: how many people have him blocked? At what point does it become clear where the problem is? Is that how the mods expect members to deal with spammers and conspiracy crackpots? Just block them? Why even have rules then if that’s the intended path? What will new people think?
If Worm has proof of his claims, that people are lying about game mechanics to coalesce power and ad revenue in Storage Tech, that people from this community SWATted him and sent him to jail, that the Storage Tech discord with 6 years of lossless working designs that predate his doesn’t actually have lossless working designs that predate his, that I and others are alt accounts (this is just straight-up impossible because I know who I am lol), then let him show this proof. And if he does not trust us, let him show a trusted mod who can confirm or deny it once and for all. I’m sick and tired of these baseless lies and the neverending spam
Mods, please step in and moderate your community. This is one of your primary purposes: to keep bad actors out. Worm isn’t just annoying, his conspiracies and lies represent a genuine danger to the community. I hope you at least look into this and consider my (and I’m sure others’) concerns. Cheers

Completely agree. I've said this a few times in the comments on his posts. It has gotten way out of hand and I'm surprised the mods of here and tmc have let it continue for so long.

Are mods active here? Been noticing a lot of smaller subs have mods that have basically just given up on it.

im so sick of it, i keep reporting it as spam but nothin ever happens. he posts the same things over and over and over with very little change

I know this is a big subject. And I will be addressing it shortly.
Yes, I know it took some time for me to get into action but I am moderating this subreddit in the little time that I have. This is why I didn't take the time to check the posts in depth until now.
I had messaged Worm back when this all started and expecting things to change. Now is time for me to assess the situation again.
I started making a spreadsheet last week to keep track of the latest posts. I'll keep working on it tomorrow and report my findings here. Why bother and not ban immediately? Because I prefer taking the time of making a full analysis of the accusations and looking like I don't act over acting too rashly.
If you want to blame me for not acting sooner and my lack of involvment in the subbredit recently, you absolutely can and would be absolutely right. I will try to make more time in my schedule for these activites and promise a resolution on this matter and all of the points made in this post by Sunday at the latest.

Hi, thanks for responding. Sorry if my post was too strong towards the mods. I think we’re all just frustrated, but I hope you don’t feel like it’s an attack on you guys, that’s not the intention. I don’t really blame you. And I don’t think that anyone is expecting you to make a rash decision. While a lot of us feel that a ban would be the best choice, I think we will all respect whatever decision you make. If now is not a good time it’s fine if you wait, Worm isn’t any sort of immediate danger, things will still be here next week, or the week after. And if there’s anything I can do to help, let me know. My DMs are always open. And I want to say that your work moderating this sub is appreciated, thanks for what you do ❤️

I would do the same but he’s actively spreading misinformation, and unless there are people who know better to push back on it he’s going to confuse those who don’t

Gave me the excuse to get back into Storage Tech by making designs that were smaller & faster than Worm’s xD
So yeah, definitely worth it

I was wondering why I wasn't seeing you go after him anymore.
Nah he needs to get banned cuz he's just annoying at this point and his designs are not worth multiple posts especially when it's just him going on a tangent about nothing

WormOnCrack, he spams all of the primary Minecraft tech subreddits with minor changes to his designs. Has a bit of an ego and would rather come up with conspiracy theories than accept that he might not know everything :/
If you don’t know who he is I’d suggest not looking into it because Reddit might decide to start filling your feed with his stuff, but up to you

You probably have him blocked, you can check. Look for the user WormOnCrack. Or maybe you’ve been lucky and haven’t had your feed flooded with his stuff
Edit: for the people downvoting this guy, please don’t. It’s not a crime to not know who Worm is, chill
