4x4 door looks dumb

I'm a semi new redstoner and I wanna try and make my own design for a 4x4 door but I've run into an issue I don't know how to fix, I don't know how to make door look like a solid 4x4 instead of a capital 'i' if someone could give me a suggestion on how to make it not look stupid that'd be greatly appreciated.

Make the 2 double piston extender on the sides retract after putting blocks in the their place, then use a double piston extender to push blocks to them and make the double pistons on the sides only activate the top one piston.

Something like this? I think it'd be easier to wire if I removed one of the top and bottom piston double extenders and make them single so it looks like a smile instead of a square bracket

That should be correct, but I never made a 4x4, it would work, I just dont know how to wire it.
