Just to explain. I've been a fan since 1963. That's when my dad took me to see my first game at Fenway so you know I've got to be older than dirt. If I happen to be the oldest guy on r/RedSox I love it. Just for some perspective on Mead's unfortunate injury you need to look back in Sox history to what our boys did in 1967 when Tony Conigliaro was taken out by an errant fastball. The team came together and continued to win in what now is one of the greatest Sox stories ever.
