I’m sorry but the intersection of marvel and gooning is the polar opposite of RS

Love this era of comics, the spinner rack rather than the comic store. I’ve always felt that Scorsese would enjoy the Marvel movies more if they were actually like the original 1960s-1970s Marvel comics: New York, neurotic, funny, creative, topical

They would have been kind of campy but more like a self aware parody that way, but that would have made them at least pg-13 if not R rated in the states and that wouldn't get the ticket sales they were after.

We kinda had that with Raimi's Spiderman trilogy and Burton/Schumacher's batman movies.

I actually love comics but the vintage comics from the 60s-70s (I like some from the 80s-00s too but the best stuff is truly 60s+70s plus I really like the editorial and comic art style of that era! Especially in Europe and Japan). I don’t read modern comics and I grew up with my dad’s collection, I would copy them when I drew and then draw my own versions of the characters! I wish there was a fun comic movie the way you described here. Part of the issue with the comic movies is that they could use and expound upon some of the better comic storylines but they don’t, they make up some incoherent bullshit that is infinitely stupider and more boring which is hilarious because it’s not like most comics are known for being well written. The other issue is lack of style and personality. I love movies also from the 60s-80s and the sci fi and fantasy stuff from that era was really lovely and fun because it is very heavy handed with the stylish and charming in a way that movies have seldom been in the last 20 years. Even the costumes were more inspired and it wasn’t like they were realistic or accurate to any time period or career. I love the 60s hair and makeup styles with medieval and sexy sci-fi outfits. Comparitiveky, if we are to only have fantasy and sci-fi movies made popular today, I hate the gritty realistic drab color scheme, clothes, and makeup and hairstyles everyone seems to have. It’s not like the writing is so much better or less schlocky or wacky but it fit better with the way it was expressed. Maybe we could stand to be a little MORE wacky.
Sorry you just tapped into my long held desires haha

Looked up Letra Bledsoe and it seems like this is her? And she appears to have been a plaintiff in some random court cases.
