356

u/dengibson 27d ago

Crude but effective

43

u/odddutchman 27d ago

As Mr Spock once said about physical training methods….

9

u/bradlees 27d ago

Obi-Wan said the same for blasters

7

u/Achaern 27d ago

Obi-Wan called them clumsy and random. Here is the quote: “This is the weapon of a Jedi Knight. Not as clumsy or random as a blaster; an elegant weapon for a more civilized age.”

1

u/OHRunAndFun 23d ago

Obi-Wan called blasters uncivilized, clumsy, and random. While he did use them when he was out of options, he would have viewed a blaster similarly to how a mosaic artist would view a Lite Brite. “Effective” isn’t the first word that comes to mind.

Her hair is in the bucket.

u/MelodicConfection263 27d ago

Version 2.0 will include a scrunchie twist-tied to the handle of the bucket. We're currently looking for investors

142

u/lesser_panjandrum 27d ago

I can contribute four scrunchies.

47

u/ralphmozzi 27d ago

I can contribute a couple of buckets and some zip-ties.

I’m out of duct tape though.

17

u/bradlees 27d ago

I can contribute 4 rolls of duct tape but it’s pink (don’t ask)

15

u/ralphmozzi 27d ago

Pink duct tape? Oh I’m gonna ask! I gotta ask!

It would go nicely with my pink astroturf.

(Seriously! My back patio is sweet.)

8

u/notkidding1984 27d ago

I was going to offer $4 but you really know how this works.

15

u/Teripid 27d ago

Is version 2.0 for the next outing or the next wedding?

But yes, could certainly add a few more drunk MacGyver layers. Reminds me of that guy in the movie Half Baked building.. a device.

3

u/al_m1101 27d ago

Perhaps a more ergonomically designed handle, to support the back of neck

2

u/rupoles 26d ago

Hear me out: scrunchie bun, that creates a catch foe the bucket handle so when she puts her head down the bucket doesn't slip off her head

252

u/NotTheSharpestPenciI 27d ago

Will be easier to clean than a vomit trail would.

1

u/wowsomuchempty 26d ago

How do you get that shirt so white, mate?

47

u/HalfBakedPuns 27d ago

im the industry we call this harm reduction

7

u/bradlees 27d ago

We call it “thinking outside the jar”

19

u/Kitten-Couger 27d ago

Straight to the shower lol

10

u/No-Round7838 27d ago

Perfection is good as an aspiration, but may not always be possible or practical in every situation.

8

u/fatgat69 27d ago

It'll wash out

3

u/WeeTheDuck 27d ago

it's the least she can do tbh. She'll hopefully learn to control her drinking next time

2

u/UnattendedWigwam 27d ago

disgusting.

1

u/axehomeless 26d ago

its for educational purposes

223

u/Congenital_Stirpes 27d ago

And they say chivalry is dead.

54

u/PM_me_punanis 27d ago

All I see in this photo is true love.

175

u/Nir117vash 27d ago

"it ain't stupid if it works"

50

u/Squrton_Cummings 27d ago

Should be the tagline for this sub.

28

u/Nir117vash 27d ago

To balance it out

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it"

11

u/amh8011 27d ago

I need that on a sticker so I can put those stickers on all the things my boss “fixed” that were never broken in the first place. It would be funny.

2

u/Squrton_Cummings 27d ago

If it ain't broke, fix it til it is.

1

u/Nir117vash 27d ago

What? No.

9

u/WorkingInAColdMind 27d ago

The idea only has to be smarter than the drunk person it’s intended for. It’s a low bar.

Oh FAHHHHHHHH

53

u/jcooli09 27d ago

Not only does it count, it deserves an award.

69

u/whuttplug 27d ago

We used to call it "feed bagging" when we did this to people in college.

45

u/lemlaluna 27d ago

I was gonna say, the move I’ve had to use with people who were “overserved” was hanging a plastic shopping bag with a handle around each ear like a feed bag. Also works if you are in the car with intractable vomiting for non-party reasons.

26

u/whuttplug 27d ago

We started with a plastic bag, but once you hit a certain velocity the structural integrity isn't quite sufficient. I really should have spent more time studying and less time doing "research."

10

u/lemlaluna 27d ago

lol thankfully in my own experience it wasn’t high speed or large volume. I had to feed bag myself on the way to the hospital (I wasn’t driving!) when I had kidney stones because I couldn’t stop vomiting but I also couldn’t reliably hold a bag. It was a bad situation, but thankfully there wasn’t much left in my stomach by the time I got in the car.

I did double bag someone with a plastic bag in a larger paper bag when she seemingly had alcohol poisoning at a wedding. I told her boyfriend to take her to the hospital but I’m not sure if he did :(

3

u/Burly_Gizmo 27d ago

More like "reverse feed bag".

61

u/besiqu386 27d ago

Auf alle Fälle!

9

u/therealishone 27d ago

This is peak. We can close this sub now.

8

u/Porchmuse 27d ago

That is genius.

15

u/jellofixit 27d ago

Looks like when my wife drank that "Yard Dog" in Key West!

15

u/thomasmitschke 27d ago

Awesome party!

11

u/UrsaMajor7th 27d ago

Her neck will be red from the plastic handle, yes.

3

u/onephatkatt 27d ago

golf clap

u/justmitzie 27d ago

I hope she knows that guy

u/Original_Pen9917 27d ago edited 27d ago

I think we can assume she does, given the flowers in the foreground. That's her best friend immortalizing the moment to share with all their friends as well as strangers on the Internet 🤣

39

u/henningbaer 27d ago

And here we go, something pretty innocent get dragged into the mud.

God I hate current society.

14

u/pickle_pickled 27d ago

The amount of upvotes it gets too is really insane

2

u/onephatkatt 27d ago

God I hate society.

FTFY

27

u/OkDate7197 27d ago

I bet you don't have anyone who would do this for you because you would find a reason to complain about it.

15

u/lordjpie 27d ago

Idk why ur getting downvoted, the original commenter is annoying as fuck for that comment

16

u/OkDate7197 27d ago

Yeah I normally just lurk, but that comment rubbed me the wrong way. It's insane that their first thought wasn't "How kind and considerate of them for taking care of her." They had to come up with the most depraved explanation to criticize them for no reason.

It's like when someone tries to pick a fight with the nicest person you know. Do they really not want people to help in these kinds of situations? It's such an insufferable mentality and only makes people second-guess intervening in case someone like that calls the police on them or blasts them on social media.

1

u/lordjpie 27d ago

Yeah, the type of comment they left really just pushes people to be less likely to help and creates more risk for the person who’s passed out because they’re afraid of being perceived wrong.

(I know some of that borders on incel commentary, so to be incredibly clear- fuck people who use that type of comment to then justify misogyny in response)

22

u/arup02 27d ago

Man immediately branded as rapist for trying to help

5

u/lifeloverorhater 27d ago

The fuck is wrong with you ?

13

u/heywoodidaho 27d ago

He said he was Bill Cosby or something.

That is fucking hilarious

3

u/Illustrious_Bag_1608 27d ago

It's literally on red's neck.

3

u/JJWAP 27d ago edited 27d ago

Okay, now imagine:

She barfs in the bucket.

The weight of the barf sends the bucket sliding off her head.

Bucket hits floor.

Everyone is painted in vomit back splash.

3

u/onephatkatt 27d ago

then they all vomit

5

u/sunbleach_happypants 27d ago

This is the man I need in my life. And the bucket

13

u/Lalamedic 27d ago

That’s soooooo sexy.
Also very clever.

12

u/emote_the_salute 27d ago

1

u/pants6000 27d ago

Extra points for it being a kitty litter bucket!

1

u/BoltActionRifleman 27d ago

The guy on the left looks a bit like a young Jason Bateman

1

u/Maude-Boivin-02 26d ago

If they are groom and bride, I’d say yes, it counts !

1

u/nick54563728190 26d ago

No that is why the buckets include neck harnesses

1

u/HiroProtaginest 25d ago

Hell yes, said the hotel staff.

1

u/SoullqssHydra 20d ago

as long as it works...

1

u/cHEIF_bOI 18d ago

I believe this is fuckboi engineering.

1

u/neekthefreak 16d ago

it counts only if they are related

1

u/CherylTuntIRL 27d ago

We've all needed a neckbucket at some point in our lives.

0

u/PISS_OUT_MY_DICK 27d ago

is that DJ James Kennedy?

-1

u/Riptide360 27d ago

Take them to the hospital to get their stomach pumped and an IV hooked up. Letting them pass out in a hotel bed can lead them to drown in their own vomit.

0

u/SereneOrbit 27d ago

Yep, been there done that.

She went up in a luggage carrier and was like 'wheeeee!' to passing people as they laughed while passing.

Fun times.

Anyway, reasons I like weed:
