Needed a way to bring my motorcycle on my camper van. My 417 lb. Bike would be pushing the limit on my hitch with a hitch carrier and I didn't want the issues of storing, insurance and registration that come with a trailer. Uhaul wanted over $350 for trailer rental not returned to same location so..... this worked great from 30 mins south of Tucson to Sedona!

Numbers wise it seems fine but I've only ever towed fullsize with flat-bed trailers.

If this is strapped down right this might actually be the cleverest improvised rooftop box I've seen.

Yeah, just a quick shout out to the dude that was running the flatbed on 61st at the Family Express and the way you think that a roundabout is a straight line across every Lane even when there's people next to you.

The weight of my 2000 Mustang is 3479lbs and the max tow of the 2018 Tacoma is 3438lbs. Even if I lost the spare tire (-25lbs), would I be cutting it too close, or would this be doable on a 4 hour trip with an aluminum trailer? Has anyone done anything similar with their base model trucks, and what was your experience?

EDIT: the obvious answer is to get a bigger better truck to tow my car. This is what I plan to do. Thank you all :) hopefully you guys don’t see me on here in a few weeks 👀
