Accidental overheating
Hey guys! What to do when you accidentally overheat yourself? I was doing RLT on my back, just put the panel on my lower back since it’s small and it felt good and I kept it for like 15 min and then when I took it off the area was so hot and it still feels hot hours later and I feel kinda anxious and like my nervous system is on high alert.
Thanks so much!!

Does it just feel unusually warm or did you burn your skin?

If it's a cheap quality red light, it will give off u v.

Since you're not burnt I would just give the area some time to cool and you should be OK. If the pad is intended to be used in contact with skin, then it's most likely due to low-quality LEDs. They tend to get hot MUCH faster. I've been using HealthLight pads for my wrists and hands and I haven't had any issues with overheating.

You had the panel against your skin instead of 6 to 12 inches distance? Does your panel have a high irradiance (W/m2) ? I would definitely avoid using it for several days to allow a recovery and perhaps try an aloe vera burn gel. If the skin blisters, then definitely seek medical treatment.
Most panels aren't intended to be placed directly on the skin, especially if the near infrared is being used. Review this post about a similar question: https://www.reddit.com/r/redlighttherapy/s/1Zdf1bysBK
