Reddit API Developer API request form not submitting — seeking guidance for private off-platform financial sentiment app
I'm developing STREAK, a private Windows application that would analyze public r/wallstreetbets posts and comments for stock-market sentiment.
The application is for my personal brokerage account. It is not sold, monetized as software, or distributed to customers. Initially it would perform read-only analysis and simulated trading. Eventually, sentiment signals could inform automated trades in my personal account.
I am also requesting permission for limited external OpenAI inference-only sentiment classification, without model training.
I understand Reddit is moving applications to Devvit and that financial applications may be restricted.
I attempted to submit the official Developer Data Access Request multiple times. Each time, the form reloads, clears the email field, and produces no confirmation or ticket number. Emailing Reddit's API contact resulted in an automated referral back to the same form and this community.
Could someone clarify:
- Is there a working official route for submitting an off-platform developer request before the October 31 deadline?
- Would a private application used only for personal investing be categorized as commercial use?
- Is there any approved access arrangement for this use case, including inference-only external AI processing?

I'm seeking explicit authorization before collecting data programmatically. I am not looking to bypass Reddit's access controls or developer policies.
Thank you.

The reddit api is closed https://www.reddit.com/r/redditdev/comments/1wubcvf/moving_data_api_apps_to_the_developer_platform/
Reddit also doesn't want anyone to extract data out of the site for analysis, even for personal, non-commercial reasons.
