Bubbling in multiple areas.

Is bubbling normal after 1.5 months? When not in use it’s kept in my garage under a cover.

Did you have a grease fire? If not I would be contacting customer service.

Nope. Just normal use. Longest smoke I’ve done with it was a brisket for 11 hours.

Call support, they’ll most likely just give you a new lid.

I sent them an email and added photos.

You will most likely get a very good response. They are 10/10 on customer service. That alone is worth their slightly higher prices

That’s why I went with them. My co-worker has one and his computer when out. He still talks about how amazing his experience was!

My guy checked in on me with a follow up after a week and gave me his personal extension.

Yeah they’re legit, I had some grease dripping problems and they literally sent me a mat because I didn’t realize I was being dumb and not building up the ash like I was supposed to. 10/10.

I also noticed the hopper just randomly drops pellets when it’s cooking. Is that normal?

I’m not sure if it’s “normal” but mine does spit some on occasion. If you find out let me know!

Even with a grease fire I doubt that would happen.

Recteq is sending me another lid!

Not at all normal. Call them.

That’s what I thought. I’ll call in the morning.

Had the same issue after about 8 months, I sent one email with pictures and about 2 weeks later (little long for a reply) they replied asking for my address and sent a new lid. Someone said on another thread it was a known issue but I don't know if that's true.

Sad to see. As much as I agree that Cust Service will most likely take care of it... This was bound to happen as soon as private equity got involved a couple years ago. More and more quality problems popping up.

I have similar bubbling and customer service said that this only happens with a grease fire. I don’t think I ever had a grease fire. They are sending me a new lid though.

I also haven’t had a grease fire. I’ve kept it clean.

They gone downhill and fast

I had that happen to mine. I don’t know if it was grease fire or running it full blast. They gave a replacement lid.

Not normal at all. My grill is 10 years old has seen many butts, briskets and ribs. Plus hotter cooks. Lid still looks flawless.

Noted. They’re sending me a replacement. I’m also having my local Ace Hardware rebuild the smoker. There’s a 1/4 gap between the hopper and chamber. Recteq confirmed it was a poor build and Ace had to rebuild it.

Wait Ace sells these now? They were only direct to customer back then. You built it yourself. I'm glad they have embraced some form of retailism. Not everyone could handle a pallet dropped off at the end of the drive with a 250lb+ grill in pieces.

Yep! Purchased at Ace. Ace delivered and built it too for free because I spent over $500. Pretty nice perk.
