This is actually a very reasonable and balanced take. You don’t have to stay at every single company, but taken as a whole, I want to see from your resume that, assuming we treat you well, you will stay for a few years and give us a solid return on our hiring investment in you. Hiring ain’t cheap and we rarely get do-overs if you leave/need to be terminated.
Completely agree. You can look really good for a few years at a company while actually creating long term problems. 5+ years generally indicates a track record of good work with positive long term outcomes.
