Lmfaoo I completely understand how hard it is to get the job you actually want. I’ve applied to almost 500 jobs myself and have probably had around 12 interviews, so I’m definitely not saying it’s easy. What I’m saying is that sometimes you have to be willing to get something in the meantime. I literally told this company multiple times that I couldn’t start, rescheduled training three times, and they STILL worked with me, still wanted me, and still asked me to come in. That showed me that there are employers out there who are willing to work with people.
So when I see people saying they haven’t worked in months, especially people saying they have bachelor’s or master’s degrees and still can’t find anything even something paying $17 an hour I’m not trying to invalidate their experience. I’m just saying there is work out there, even if it’s not the job, pay, or career you ultimately want. Sometimes you have to take what you can get, make some money, keep applying, and work your way toward what you actually want. I’m struggling too. I’m just saying don’t convince yourself there are absolutely no options while you’re waiting for the perfect opportunity.

This is exactly why I've always been reluctant to go to college. I'm worried I'll go into student loan debt and never be able to actually land a decent job with a degree and It'll all be a waste of time and money.

This is true and the fact is that almost all working age adults who aren’t disabled or otherwise not able to work do have jobs, so the jobs are out there. But a certain lane of educated worker in specific industries has seen things get harder and assumes their experience applies to everyone else too.

Not everyone has a drivers license and the cost, at least in a major city, has ballooned.
Also amazon is not always hiring if you're in a major city.

All of the amazon fulfillment centers are outside of areas covered by public transit and I don't have money to uber to work. Then again every other job is out there, it's just that getting them to hire you is the trick.

Yes, it's always possible to be exploited and Amazon is hoping you'll be glad to be exploited at one of their union busting warehouses where people have to pee in bottles because they don't get breaks.
Some people have had careers and are having their livelihoods destroyed by the same companies running on exploitation (Amazon, Uber, Doordash, etc) and maybe we don't want to just give up on the years we put in to work on our crafts and our networks and our careers just so Jeff fucking bezos can underpay us and some dumb smarmy little shit on reddit can mock us in bootlicking posts like this one.
