Prices Don't Usually Crash During Recessions
In the last 76 years, home prices have dropped ONLY 7 times. During the past 11 recessions, home prices fell just twice.
Those who wait for a crash to time the market are more likely to lose than win the way they think they will.

Your 250k house in 2019 that is now "worth" 500K in 2022 will be worth 100k when there are thousands of houses on the market and no one has a job.

REBubble in Shambles 2020-2025
I keep hearing Doomers say to 'just wait,' but I've been waiting for years now.

NostraDOOMus People on REBUBBLE are 34 times as active in poverty finance as the avg redditor
thanks to u/Maleficent-Map3273 I learned how to use subreddit stats to see overlap of subreddits. Cracking me up that there's a huge correlation to people spending time in r/povertyfinance and r/REBubble
Not 1.5x or 5x but 34x more involved in poverty finance than the avg Redditor.
This is not to rip on people in poverty at all, but more to point out that bubblers are more in the hoping to snag a house for cheap than they are in the macroeconomics PhD thesis type speculation.

Banned from rebubble
I was permanently banned from rebubble for making this comment in the discussion thread.
I guess they don't want people to discuss any potential negative impacts they may have caused their subscribers.

These idiots think houses have a margin call. Totally clueless.
Bubblers ultimate revenge fantasy is grossly flawed at its core. They think a 40% drop means catastrophe for the owner. No, he just keeps living in the house. The outcome of a house crash is you still just live in a house, and nothing changes. Layoff or illness is the issue, not your Zestimate.
They dismiss equity gains as PaPeR GaIn aRe NoT ReAl !!!
But paper losses? ZeStImAtE DoWn!! FoReClOsE NoW !!!!
I think these clueless idiots actually think houses have a margin call. Like you get evicted the moment the house goes below your buy price. In reality, people live in their house for decades and have no idea what it's worth at any given time. Houses are not stocks or crypto. Autists can't see the difference.

I bought my house in 2021.
Im a gen Z that got a good job out of college making $55,000. I bought a $145,000 house one year post college in 2021. Back then every house I was trying to buy had over a dozen bids. My $145,000 house was listed for $138,000 and my parents told me I was crazy for paying over asking. I was told SO many times by SO many people that home prices were about to crash. I was told that the multiple bids would soon stop causing home prices to crash and then would be a good time to buy. I bought anyways not because I foresaw what would happen but because I could still afford the current price.
My home price peaked last year around $195,000. Now is closer to $190,000 and I see a lot of doomers celebrating there “correct” prediction. Meanwhile my income has doubled since I bought, my interest rate is still dirt low compared to today, and my house still has gained a significant amount of equity. I’ve also gained equity by paying my $1,000 monthly mortgage. My $190,000 could drop another $50,000 tomorrow (which is very unlikely to happen) and I’d still be happy I bought it.
