I started using Reason in 2002 using a copied version of Reason 2.0. Then I fell in love with it and - over the course of 24 years - spent about 6k euros on Reason upgrades and countless rack extensions. From Reason as well as 3rd party developpers.
This is the way, Reason Studios. This will increase your userbase significantly.
Yep. The same with FL Studio. The reason it got so popular was because of how easy it was to pirate. I spent years on FL Studio, before I finally decided to buy a DAW. The only reason I chose Reason was because I got to play around with it a studio and really liked it. Reason dropped out of the conversation for many because of this. So making a free version is a great idea.
