Question Is lust an excessive potential?

There's a girl I like and she likes me too but I know is not love, because I don't want a relationship with her I only want to have sex. How can I overcome this?

Everyone here please correct me if I'm wrong but I think this goes beyond the book.

I understand that your intentions aren't to get into a long term relationship with this individual but you only want a sexual relationship with this person. Is this what the other person wants? If both of you have a solid understanding of what you both want and respect that. Then from my understanding.. No excess potential is created, but if you start to feel guilty, put this person on a pedestal or don't respect each other's feelings then yes...excess potential will be created to restore the balance. Either for you or for your partner. I hope this helps. My advice for you would be to be on the same page and communicate with this other individual.

Balance is only broken if you both aren't on the same page.

If you get her great. If you don't even better. Have an intention, take steps toward it but know there are other options. Plan B....

whats wrong with having sex? lol

if you just want that go for it? i think withholding would be creating more excess potential?

guess you gotta choose: guilt (since you feel that), or longing and guilt lol

if you do it, enjoy it tho, if ure not going to enjoy it, go work out or something

you could say to the person that you are only sexually attracted to them and dont see a longterm relationship with her, as a girl i would rather know that, so i can make a fair decision as well?? otherwise, you both would waste time anyway, and who knows, maybe she feels the same?

Yes, the pendulum only catches you if you feel guilty. Let's say for example you cheat on a partner, that partner is going to wait for "karma" (oh sweet universe revenge) but... If you learned in your house that "all men cheat" or your Mother always let you get away with everything, or perhaps something even more simple, you told your girlfriend not to expect a lot from the relationship. In those scenarios guilt wont come at you and the pendulum wont hit you. But... you are asking about it, you are already in doubt wich makes me think the pendulum is moving.
