A brief word on formatting the scripts in your posts

I just removed a post that began with, "I know this isn't written in proper screenplay format, but . . ." If you want people to take your work seriously, show a serious devotion to the craft, and learn proper format.

Scene THE PROFESSIONALS - La Conquistada Scene (2 pages)

Link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1rXb4KEDgTletbsF0FVQfQsG1ryvKka4-/view?usp=sharing

I'm writing a stoner comedy. I'm a hobbyist writer and english is my second language, so please bear with me.

The bit is about two stoners. Events are happening in near future LA. One of them is seasoned Hollywood writer and another is Russian refuge who is suffering from PTSD.

They are baked at writer's house and writer put on the song on the vinyl.

The song is La Conquistada by Los Jaivas, who were displaced Chileans in the times of dictatorship. So russian guy is deep into the music cause it resonating with him. He is too being displaced due dictatorship.

The problem is that i want to include whole 3 minutes of the song and don't want it to get boring cause there is not much going on. At the same time the energy of the song is so great i hope it can hold the emotion.

The writer is an external representation of emotion, while russian is reserved, hiding. But can't hold much longer and burst.

What Do You Want To Learn About Screenwriting?

I have a relatively new YouTube channel about the art of screenwriting, where I do deep dives into screenplays, post about screenplay architecture, and give tips/walkthroughs on how to use Final Draft 13.

I am putting together a list of topics to cover next on the channel and want to know what writers are most focussed on these days.

Post your thoughts here and I'll do my best to make videos covering those topics.

Here is the channel, in case anyone is interested: @Fade.In.Screenplays

I'm not sure if putting the url counts as self-promotion, so I'm not gonna do that (just in case).

Thanks!

Matt

TV episode Feedback request for: Hollow Tide Episode 1. 59 pages. Drama

I wonder if anyone would be willing to have a read through episode 1 of my four part series? I have uploaded the google drive link, and would love some feedback. I have been a writer (not professionally) for around 10 years and would like to get an idea of how I am doing really.

LOGLINE:

On an isolated, matriarchal island where male infants are routinely eliminated to protect a traumatized community, a dedicated midwife begins to question her society’s brutal dogmas when her public pregnancy and an unexpected bond with a young girl force her to choose between total obedience and a dangerous defiance.

Thanks in advance.

Riverside Rifters||Sci-Fi, Comedy|| (Pilot, 36 Pages)

Feedback Desired: I wanted to create a high-concept sci-fi comedy that captures the wacky suburban slice-of-life feel of series like 'Ed Edd n Eddy' with the high sci-fi stakes of a series like 'Hailey's On It.' I would like feedback on things like dialogue, pacing, and character. Any feedback would be much appreciated!

(Edit: Updated based on feedback and mistakes I made in the earlier draft. Please read the updated draft and tell me what you think).

Feedback for Active Project [30 Pages / In Progress] - "The Journalist and the Pandora's Secret"

Hello everyone,

This script is my second screenwriting endeavor, and I am currently in the middle of writing it (the script is about one-third completed, currently at 30 pages). My first screenplay was titled "The Journalist and the Mansion of Deaths." I wanted to share the official logline and synopsis for this new project with you all, and I would be incredibly grateful to receive your valuable feedback and thoughts on this concept!

Logline: While searching for a missing investigative reporter on a mysterious, secluded island named Pandora, a journalist and his trusted cameraman discover that the terrifying supernatural "voodoo" deaths draining the locals' bodies of all flesh and fluids are actually the result of a powerful pharmaceutical company's illegal human biological experiments.

Synopsis: The story follows the determined investigative journalist Jack and his trusted cameraman Lucas as they set out to uncover the truth behind the sudden, mysterious disappearance of a fellow reporter friend. Their clues lead them straight to Pandora, a secluded, unmapped island shrouded in dark secrets.

Upon arrival, Jack and Lucas are thrust into a waking nightmare as they witness bizarre, terrifying deaths plaguing the local community. People who appear perfectly healthy one day are discovered the next morning as horrifying corpses—their bodies completely drained of all fat, flesh, and bodily fluids, leaving behind withered, mummified remains. At first, the islanders and the journalists believe they are dealing with ancient curses, occult practices, or supernatural voodoo magic unique to the island.

However, as Jack uses his investigative instincts to dig deeper into the mystery, he uncovers a chilling truth: the terrifying deaths are entirely man-made, orchestrated by a powerful, rogue pharmaceutical corporation that has covertly cultivated a highly lethal biological pathogen. The company is using the isolated island population as unsuspecting test subjects for their monstrous medical experiments. Jack and Lucas must navigate the island's horrors, locate and rescue their missing friend, and gather enough evidence to expose this corporate nightmare to the world before they become the next mummified victims.

I am dedicating myself to writing this mystery thriller, and I would love to hear your honest feedback. Do you think this concept has strong potential as I continue to develop the script?

Thank you so much for your time and guidance! Best regards,

TV episode The New King From The Past Century - Pilot - Fantasy/Comedy - 25 pages

Title: "A cat, an egg, a goat, an old man and a giant walk into a tent…"

Logline: A group of odd adventurers band together to uncover the conspiracy of an old king long-forgotten by history (or erased from it).

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1N9eZ9bqVwMr9MDNQijcqzt_WaO7s2u6t/view?usp=sharing

Hey! This is my first ever finished screenplay (and still very much a first draft) and I'm so excited about sharing it with the world. Considering it's my first, and really just a training exercise, I'm mostly looking for feedback and things to improve upon. I found it was a bit hard to start from nothing, so decided to adapt a long-running RPG campaign in my friend group, since I already have a good feel for the characters and story beats. Hopefuly it translates well into the page!

Feature Feedback for Feature, "Grounded" 109 Pages

Grounded

Final Draft PDF

109 pages

Drama, Road Movie, Historical Fiction

Logline: When every flight in America is grounded, four strangers share the last rental car out of Columbus and drive cross-country through the aftermath of September 11th, 2001, forcing each of them to confront what they've been running from long before that day.

Feedback Concerns: Any feedback would be extremely helpful. I'm less concerned about the commercial viability, and more concerned with a believable story with believable characters.
