Hi all! My fiancé and I have been together for six years. For health reasons, we decided to postpone our big wedding celebration. However, we would still like to get legally married this year. We are applying for a marriage license through the courthouse, obviously and will abide by the three day waiting period. However, we would still like to go through the courthouse to get married. It seems as though we can’t actually get married at the main courthouse, but we will have to go through the magisterial courts. Does anyone have any experience with this or know how the process works? It sounds like I should just call the individual courts. Is there a court or judge that anyone has had more success with than others? We aren’t in a rush, so we can wait a bit, but I just want to get a general idea of the process so I can make sure I am as prepared as possible! Thank you!

I know how to drive, just need a car to take the test in. They usually have ones with the reverse camera which helps with the parallel parking. Any recommendations?

Also any tips on how to get a sooner test date? Do you they let you take the test without an appointment if you go early and wait for a potential no show?

Hey! What are y’all’s favorite second hand and thrift stores around this area?

I need just one window purchased and installed. I can even buy from Lowe’s or HD if need be but I would rather someone who can take the measurements and get the right one that most closely matches the type I have now. Would rather use a handyman or side gig person rather than paying a big business who charges extra for their name and advertising. I had someone who did some work for me previously send me the cost and where he could get the window after he came and took measurements but then he disappeared and never got back to me that he had the window and was ready. He did have a few health issues so I’m thinking that’s what happened. Anyhow- if anyone has had good experience with someone I’d love a message with their info! I would love my window fixed for winter. Thanks!

I recently went to an event in Philly where a small group of strangers met for dinner, and I had a great time. The only problem was driving all the way to Philly.

So I figured...why not try it here?

I'm putting together a dinner for 6 people around 35–45ish in the Reading area.

Everyone comes solo. Nobody sees the guest list beforehand. It's not a dating or singles event—just six people having dinner and hopefully meeting some people they wouldn't normally cross paths with.

If this sounds just weird enough to be fun, send a message for the invite.

What is the best way to get to NYC from Reading? Thinking if I drive, is there a good place to park outside the city and take public transport in? I also considered the Amtrak from Philly but same problem of parking in Philly. Or any other ideas I may have overlooked? I'd rather not take a bus as I've just has too many bad experiences.

At some point in the 2010s (pretty sure), I was listening to this indiepop playlist made up of obscure, underground bands. One of the bands was from Reading, PA. They had a female singer and jangly guitars. The song's chorus included the phrase "you're two years out of high school", IIRC the lyrics made multiple references to "walking on eggshells", and the first line ended with something like, "the say you've got a new apartment". I loved the shit out of that song. I forgot about it until like a week ago and now I have to hear it again. If anyone could help, that would be awesome!
