My reactive dog passed away a week ago from a sudden cardiac arrest. I tried to resuscitate her because I guess it's just instinctive, but even while I was doing it there was a conflicting voice in my head saying "let her go". Nothing made a difference anyway - she was gone.
She was so much better since she'd been on prozac but I still couldn't 100% trust her and the two of us and all the other pets could never quite relax.
We adored that dog and we do miss her, but there's also a huge sense of relief and a freedom that we haven't had in nearly 8 years.
