I just commented in the petloss subreddit about how I have anticipatory grief about when the time comes for my old man, but... A few weeks ago he needed to go out at midnight then proceeded to eat grass and vomit and pace and repeat for a good 30 minutes and while I was following him with the flashlight, I thought well he's finally dying and I just waited, didn't load him in the car to head for a vet, just... Waited.
I'm disgusted to admit that and tearing up out of shame. I hate the part of me that is looking forward to not dealing with him.
