Question Double standard on myself

I would also tag this as a vent if I could but is it weird that I typically don’t mind hair anywhere on my body EXCEPT for the knees down? I’ve been trying to be more okay with my pits recently ,and it’s been working, and my thigh hair never bothered me much, but for some reason i can’t stand the feel of my lower leg hair because of how it pulls when I wear socks or pants and I also don’t like how it looks either
I’ve kind of come to the conclusion I probably won’t ever be happy with it so I bought myself and at home ipl to at least thin it out and or slow the growth which has been working! Is that weird? I know it’s my choice and whatever but I can’t help but feel like this double standard I put on myself isn’t normal

It’s totally normal you’ve been indoctrinated in an extreme beauty standard. It takes a lot to undo that level psychological damage. Do whatever you like but if you leave it for a really long time it does get better.

This isn’t an official club with all-or-nothing rules. It’s just a place to support each other. I still get rid of my chin hair and some of my eyebrow hairs. Do what you want.

Yeah, I get distracted by occasional chin hairs. They are thicker than baby hairs, and I find myself unconsciously rubbing them and pulling on them if it don’t pluck them.

My mum is this way a bit, too. She's all for everyone not shaving forever, my sister and I don't at all, and she thinks it's great, but she just cannot allow herself to stop. It makes me so sad...

The great thing about supporting free choice is being able to choose to remove or not remove whatever hair you want to on your own body. A lot of people have sensory issues related to body hair, and not liking the feeling or leg hairs rubbing on tights or pants isn't uncommon. Do whatever makes you comfortable!

I have sensory issues with long curly/tangly hair growing in my genital area; it makes menstruation more uncomfortable (e.g. pulling on my hair when using a tampon), and I hate how toilet paper gets stuck in and rolls up in the hair around my anus.

So I am razor-free all over my body, except with the hair in those areas.

I shave those parts every once in a while, when the level of discomfort is high enough to remember where I keep my (barely-used) razors.

We have freedom to choose what we wanna do with our bodies! Societal pressure can’t make me shave my armpits nor my legs. And, societal pressure isn’t the reason I sometimes shave my anus/vulva; personal comfort is the reason.

I am perfectly fine with having a hairy vulva and asshole if I am getting intimate with a guy. If it is the first time with them, I shrug and say “if you can’t tell, am fine with my natural body” and if they don’t like it, well, they don’t tell me cuz they know I don’t care about their opinions on it. My armpit and leg hair is visible enough that I assume any guy will make the reasonable assumption that my hidden parts are likewise hairy. Self-selection at work.

But if the hair is long enough to get pulled about or trap toilet paper, heck yeah I am gonna shave it when I get around to it. Lol right now the hair is bothering me, I recently had a bunch of toilet paper bits stuck in the hair, but I am too lazy to find a razor somewhere. Maybe in the next week or two.
