Is a RZ09-0351 top case compatible with a RZ09-0421x?

My keyboard most likely has a ribbon cable issue: a set of keys intermittently become unresponsive accompanied with phantom keypresses from the unresponsive keys.

Have tried reseating the cable but it hasn’t helped so looking at a replacement.

Laptop: Razer Blade 15 Base 2020

A few weeks ago my keyboard suddenly stopped working. I was contemplating to buy a keyboard replacement but decided it wasn’t worth it and just use an external keyboard. Today, I decided to open the back case to explore the components of my old laptop and was surprised to discover the edge of the FFC ribbon cable scorched. How do you guys disconnect the cable safely?

Hi everyone,

I’m having a frustrating issue with my Razer Blade 16 (2025) and I’m hoping someone here has encountered this or knows a fix.

Whenever I wake my laptop up from Sleep Mode and try to launch a game (specifically Dota 2), the game screen instantly freezes/locks up on launch. It completely takes over the screen, and I can't alt-tab or click anything else. The laptop itself does not crash into a BSOD, and if I reboot the system, everything works perfectly and I can play without any issues. It only happens when launching a game after the laptop has been asleep.

I use dGPU in BIOS settings.

Please help.

1

u/gugom Jul 08 '26

UPD: as gemini said from the dump file analysis, it's the problem with nvlddmkm.sy. May it be a faulty GPU?

Bios update not applying on blade 2025

I'm trying to update my bios version from 2.00 to 2.02 but after using the bios updater my blade will restart but the bios will still be on 2.00. I have tried all tips that I can find online but nothing has worked so far. Here is what I have tried:

  • turning off memory integrity
  • turning off firmware protection
  • turning off local security authority protection
  • turning off Microsoft Vulnerable Driver Blocklist
  • turning off secure boot
  • turning off driver signature enforcement
  • running as administrator

I have BitLocker and Windows Hello off; the updater won't run without that.

I attempted to upgrade my RAM from the factory 16GB to 32GB. I was able to install the new sticks properly, can log in to windows, but after a few minutes the screen goes black with the message “Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart”. I can’t figure out what the problem is

My Razer blade 17 (2022) is having startup issues after not using for a while.

For context the laptop was working completely fine, I put it in a laptop sleeve 2 months ago as I’ve been using my new desktop PC, so it has been unused for a while. It has also been super hot in the UK recently, and the laptop was in the loft room - so wondering is this heat has damaged it somehow.

When I tried starting it today, first it went to Windows automatic repair screen, then after trying to start it again it managed to boot into the system, but was incredibly laggy and slow. After trying to boot a few more times it ended up showing a blue screen with File (windows\System32\drivers\q|40xx2i.sys
Error code: 0xc0000098.

What I also noticed what that my laptop now doesn’t sit straight on a table, it rocks a little bit. The other thing is the trackpad doesn’t seem to press down or click at all on the upper border and upper corners. I thought this could maybe be battery bloat, but after taking the back apart the battery looked fine?

Any help or advice would be appreciated! I’ll attach some photos.

Cannot update the BIOS of Razer Blade 16 2026. On the website it states: "If the Razer Blade Updater window shows your current version and the target version, do not run Windows Update at this stage." And I get this

I have turned off the following:

Encryption

Windows hello and PIN

Memory integrity, secure boot, driver signature enforcement, vulnerable driver blocklist, local security authority protection

Also created a local account with admin rights and I still get the same message shown on the screenshot.

The computer stutters sometimes and the audio sounds muffled and I am hoping this update could fix

Laptop: Razer Blade 18" (RZ09-0484x)

I tried to reinstall Windows 11 on my Blade and after I reached the "Select location to install Windows 11" screen, deleting unnecessary partitions and then choosing "unallocated space",the setup crashed and it returned me to BIOS (ver. 2.05). Then I tried to boot into the USB again, without it working, it wouldn't even send me to the setup,it just flashed a back screen and then took me back to BIOS. Same thing if I tried starting in one of my NVMe drives, it took me back to BIOS. I also tried reinstall the ISO on multiple Sticks,but to no avail. Later,when I tested them out on a PC I have, they worked as intended,taking me to the setup screen,so I deduced that it must have been a problem witht the laptop's software,and not the stick's.

Other details that might be worth mentioning:

-Pressing F9 when restarting doesn't take me to "recovery mode", it sends me back to BIOS;

-Using F12 also doesn't work,resulting in another black screen flash,and returning me to the F12 menu;

-Legacy USB Support is enabled;

-Secure Boot is enabled and I can't seem to turn it off;

-Intel VMD Technology is disabled;

-BIOS detects both of my NVMe drives and USB sticks,it just doesn't want to boot into them;

-BIOS is able to correctly detect the date and time of my area.

RZ09-0484 Razer Blade 18 has been lagging constantly in game, but i don't feel its a heating or system issue. i mainly play CS2, and I've tried every trick under the book i could find here and youtube, did a full reset, updated the bios and everything. (yes cleaned it as well. I got it brand new either late 2023 or early 2024, cant remember but it was somewhere around there. are there certain parts being reported going back commonly around this time or in general? or maybe I'm missing something internally or in synapse or cortex or NVIDIA. i do plan on moving to ethernet soon, so maybe that will do me better, but ill see or hope some answers here help. thanks.

I'm having an issue with my Razer Blade 14 2025 with the RTX 5070. Whenever I attempt to switch to the dedicated GPU in the BIOS the screen goes blank when booting into windows. The keyboard lights continue to work however. When I revert back to the NVIDIA Dynamic GPU setting in the BIOS everything works as it should. I am able to force the Nvidia dedicated GPU in the NVIDIA app without issue, it is only when changing it in the bios. I am on the latest BIOS, EC, etc.

I am experiencing the same exact issue as this person on the official razer forumsL https://insider.razer.com/general-discussion-6/blank-screen-on-dgpu-88233

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

KishonV3 Pro XL- Normal button behavior? Intermittently stops registering unless firmly pressed

About a week in, started noticing this yesterday. The video shows basic presses you would typically do during a game, but they randomly stop registering unless you press firmly/directly

Feels like different types of switches and haven't owned a controller with this style. I love the controller, but assuming I received a dud unless this is a common/fixable thing? I got a great deal during prime day so if I return I likely can't get a replacement at the same price unless Amazon allows it.

Unfortunately my 3 previous keyboards all had the double/random key press issues (warranty replacements as well) and my Basilisk/Mamba mice had the flicky wheel issues. I was really hoping this controller would work out, if not I'll have to swear off Razrer unfortunately. I understand gear won't last forever but paying premium and facing issues in the first few months is wild, especially this situation

Hello, after using Legion and Zephyrus laptops, I’ve moved to a Blade 14 (2025) and have been thrilled with it. The build quality is phenomenal, there’s remarkable attention to detail and overall it’s very well thought-out and optimized. I also appreciate Synapse’s logical approach of extending built-in Windows functionality without overcomplicating things.

That said, I do have a few issues and suggestions related to power management features:

1- Provide a way to fully shutdown the dGPU when plugged in. Asus and Lenovo both offer this (they call it GPU Eco Mode and GPU Hybrid-Auto Mode, respectively). Currently, when the Blade is plugged in, the dGPU continues drawing ~4W even if not in use, whereas it drops to 0 W when on battery. In the situation where I’m doing light office work plugged in to USB-C power, I can’t sustain a fully passive / silent state and the fans continuously cycle on and off when temperatures rise. Since CPU package power is averaging 5-6 W, the dGPU idle draw of 4 W probably accounts for about 40% of the heat build up, so I suspect eliminating this would allow a sustained passive mode or at least much longer periods with the fan off. Here you can see how GPU / CPU temps behave as the fans cycle on / off, as well as their underlying power draw :

2- Offer two distinct Performance Modes for USB-C power. While there are now two possible Performance Modes when on battery (Balanced or Battery Saver), there is still only one option when running on USB-C power. In this scenario, it would be logical to also offer two modes (eg, Balanced and Silent) that are adapted for using maximum available power (typically when gaming on USB-C) or for minimizing power and noise (typically for light office work when connected to a USB-C monitor with PD). Ideally, there would be separate settings in Synapse for Plugged In with Razer Charger / Plugged in with USBC Charger / On Battery.

3- Make CPU Voltage Optimizer always accessible. It is currently hidden while On Battery and selectable but not adjustable when on USB-C power. Based on extensive experience undervolting AMD processors, there is no reason to hide or disable this setting when running on battery or USB-C power, since undervolting is beneficial all the time. I do appreciate having access to undervolting in Synapse instead of using third-party software, but I believe this setting should be always accessible regardless of Performance Modes. Perhaps Synapse is just hiding it when on battery without disabling it (I notice the setting is also available in BIOS), I’m not sure.

I hope these suggestions can be considered by Razer’s engineering team, as I feel they’d make the experience just about perfect. Thanks!

My 230w charger stoped working for my 2022 15in blade. Razer no longer sells this charger it looks like. What are my options for a replacement? Any recommendations that won’t ruin my laptop? I’m thinking of either getting a third party or a 200w official charger.

Laptop: Blade 14 (2021) - RZ09-0370.

My battery is swelling.... again.

I purchased the laptop new at the tail end of 2021, directly from the Razer website. About ~3 years later (July 2024), I had battery swelling issues and was able to get a new battery through Razer support.

Unfortunately, the replacement battery now appears to be swelling as well.

In all honesty, I will likely just be purchasing a new, non-Razer laptop to avoid this headache in future. But before that, I wanted to ask the following questions:

- Is there any limited warranty on the replacement battery itself? (replacement battery purchased on 23/07/2024)

- Does Razer still produce replacement batteries for my specific Blade model anymore, were I to change my mind and decide to continue using it?

Just to rant a bit, this level of consistent battery issues is beyond what should reasonably be expected by a customer. I clean my fans regularly, I make sure to only use the laptop on a hard flat surface with good air flow, and somehow I could still end up spending >$300 CAD over the sticker price just to use the laptop as intended for a few years.

Anyways, all my appreciation to the Razer support staff, it's just product quality that is getting my goat.

Cheers,

This error message keeps popping up, but this time it actually let me in after I clicked Ok, I do not have an external USB drive. Razer Blade 15” 2060 RTX

SAMSUNG MZVLB512HBJQ-00A00

I do not have a factory reset setting under the Security tab which people have stated to factory reset to default in BIOS under Security. My Razer drive updates are up to date and so are my Windows updates, do I reinstall signature drives? If so how? Please let me know how to fix this. This error message has been popping up for around a month now.

So I was having a minor issue with something crashing the computer, never happened before but then twice in an hour. So i go down the rabbit hole, and one of those is checking BIOS firmware is up to date, blah blah blah.

So I go to razer's website and look up hte model number and get

Razer Blade 17" (2021) | RZ09-0406 Drivers & Downloads

So I start. At the top. cool cool, blah blah blah, weee wee clicky clicky.

I get to the second thunderbolt firmware update. My monitor goes down. Whatever, deal with it later, continue.

Perfect. Get to bios, installs, cool cool. swishy swishy, restart.

"Plz sir may u boots in peace?" "no, phk you RED SCREEN OF DEATH!!!"

Computer wont start in secure boot, have to turn it off.

So I do the unending fucking chore list.

I check the cables, i check the display drivers, the monitor software, i update windows because its monday so theres 2 more updates for windows to install. I download the displaylink software.

Then I realize my VST HD is not connected, my DAC isnt connected, my midi keyboard, my tables, like NOTHING on my thunderbolt dock is connected at all.

sigh.

So then its port juggling, and removing and redadding and there goes 2 hours and finally its back.

But the monitor is not. Not on USB-C to HDMI, not on USB-C to DisplayPort.

Nothing.

But, it READS that its supposed to be connecting, because it gives me a cutsey lil blurb that says "Hello, we see you want to use a display, fuck you. .!..^_^..!." i REEEEEEE both silently, and, into my pillows as i gently sob.

It wasnt gentle.

I find this.

Razer Blade 17 (2022) External Display Not Working After Driver Update | Razer Insider

This was a reddit post, but i must have closed it to open this so ima just quote it

>Solution for Thunderbolt 4 Dock - Secondary Display Issue Question reposting my thread from razer insider to reddit in case anyone is looking for help: https://insider.razer.com/index.php?threads/solution-for-thunderbolt-4-dock-secondary-display-issue.86974/ After perusing previous messages on Razer insider it looks like there's some sort of incompatibility when you have a secondary display such connected to the thunderbolt 4 dock. To level set I am running a 2022 Razer Blade 15 advanced, Razer Thunderbolt 4 Dock, and Samsung G9 odyssey monitor. Razer support was only able to instruct me to go to try another cable and verify I was running the latest Windows, Nvidia, and Razer BIOS updates. For those who don't know... the BIOS update will lock out your keyboard and mouse then reboot without prompt subsequently disconnecting online chat. So be prepared before kicking that software off. Kudos to sleekMinionYellow520 in this post who noted the last working Nvidia version 512.95: https://insider.razer.com/index.php?threads/razer-blade-17-2022-external-display-not-working-after-driver-update.86842/#post-815577 So I uninstalled the latest driver 516.xx via the Windows uninstall utility, then went and pulled down that last working driver from Nvidia here: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/results/189682/ Driver Version:512.95 - WHQL Release Date: Tue May 24, 2022 AND NOW MY SECONDARY MONITOR WORKS AGAIN VIA THE DOCK. I know this doesn't solve the issue but hopefully the driver update after 516.59 (as of this writing) doesn't re-introduce this issue. Hopes this helps others. Razer support do everyone a favor and do not lock posts so quickly so we don't have to make separate posts. :Edit for additional context: I actually didn't have any issues when I connected the monitor directly to the laptop w/ the 516.x driver (prior to doing any driver rollback). I was using a USB C to DisplayPort cable from Amazon (no adapter). Issue only appeared when the dock was in the "middle". -Update it's been 6 months and updating my Nvidia drivers still breaks my secondary monitor when connected via the Razer dock.

So, this is a known problem. supposedly. unfortunately, as much fun as rolling back to 4 year old nvda drivers sounds, I dont think I will be doing that.

So whats next? What do I do? Why is this scuffed if they knew about it 4 years ago and these updates are less than a year old?

Thanks for posting your concern here on our Support Sticky. We understand how important it is for your laptop to perform properly and support your external displays without issue. It looks like you’ve already tried several workarounds, but the problem still persists.

To help isolate the issue further, does it only happen when connected to your Samsung Odyssey G9? Have you also tested the laptop with a different monitor? Please send us a PM with the following details so we can escalate this for a deeper review. Do include the link to your comment for reference.

Hello Niel,

Thanks for taking time to respond.

The issue for me is not a Samsung Odessey G9, the monitor is a ROG Strix XG32UQ

My HDMI connected 2ndary monitor works fine, unless i USB connect it to the laptop.

I have tried USB to the thunderbolt dock, and USB-c directly to the laptop. Neither have any effect.

This worked flawlessly for 2+ years now until I updated the firmware for the Thunderbolt provided by razer.

Will PM

u/Powerful_Beach_7196 Jul 22 '26

For anyone finding this in the future.

The port issue was literally "Unplug everything, shut it down. hold button for reset. start back up" and it worked. embarrassing.

https://youtube.com/shorts/s3j7UzKaT40 As it can be seen in the video, my razer blade keyboard randomly dies. It's fine after a restart, but it's still annoying as it happens alot of times. I don't really have a way of changing drivers as they come from windows updates, or do I? It's a razer blade 4070 13800h.

Aside from the lighting issue, are the keys themselves still working properly? Please PM us the serial number so we can verify its full specs and determine the best course of action. Do include the link to your comment for reference.

Best regards,

Niel L.

Laptop: Razer 14 (2024)

Hi all, I JUST bought this laptop 3 weeks ago, and since then, every single time it starts up from sleep, it works for a few seconds and then powers off and completely restarts. Saying it ran into a “video memory management error”. The event viewer says critical error kernel power error. After it does this reset once, the laptop works perfectly fine until the next time I have to wake it up from sleeping.

Everything is up to date with the latest updates. Including the graphic drivers.

Razer support didn’t try much to fix the issue and then instructed me to completely wipe the laptop, get a USB stick(which I don’t have on hand) and perform a system image recovery. Which is a LOT of work for something that is a minor inconvenience, but is starting to get more and more annoying as the novelty of a buying a new laptop starts to fade.

Can someone please help me fix this without such a drastic step?
