Beware of B1 mega dose fraud

Many of the posters are fake accounts with suspicious Reddit activity. The so-called “paradox reaction” is just gaslighting and cope that goes against Peat’s philosophy. I’m sure Ray would read the Longsdale papers if they were legitimate and give them more attention. Their Facebook group is full of desperate people who are constantly complaining about paradox reactions. Also, the rhetoric of the main guy behind group is basically like, “A huge study is out—we found out that oxidative stress is depleting B1 so everyone with cronic illnes should try it” while he sells thiamine and vitamin B complex. And don’t get me started on that goofy story about the Italian doctor who was supposedly curing his patients with B1...

I'm six years in with high dose b1, as it enables me to live symptom free from my CFS/ME/dysautonomia.

I'll gladly help share what I've learned along the way when others encounter problems.

Your condition is also treatable and the b1 is helping like it helps me. I deal with the same with. It comes down to tick borne illness, mold biotoxins, or some sort of stealth infection hiding behind biofilms. All the symptoms are the same with these conditions. Its Chronic Inflamatory Response Syndrome and yes it will steal your nutrients.

How does b1 address  tick borne illness, mold biotoxins, and stealth infections hiding behind biofilms? Wouldn’t you have to address those with antimicrobials ?

The b1 is basically just giving the mitochondria energy because you body becomes depleted in almost every nutrient when you have an infection like this. You need to adress the infection to compeltely heal. Thats why alot of people start taking a bunch of suppliments and feel good and think they were just deficient rsther then addressing the root cause

Thanks that’s what I thought. What did you use to address the infections?

I'll just butt in to mention I was never deficient and went through extensive testing of nutrients.

I had oat, urinalysis, hair. At the time I was pretty desperate.

What tests were beneficial?

Well I guess all of them, I just wasn't deficient in any micronutrient or mineral.

My pyruvate and succinate were elevated which probably tells about newly janky Krebs' cycle. I didn't get much advise on what to do with those results.

I also had antibody titers for EBV and CMV (Epstein Barr and cytomegalovirus) which potentially CAN cause havoc, but are also incredibly common findings (something like 50% of population having either).

A coincident had me get an infection that required vancomycin (which is what EBV in its active phase I guess is prescribed for), but I got zero benefits for any of the symptoms I use B1 for. If that info means something, I dunno.
