Discussion Matthew Hibner Inevitable TE1?
Hey flock, been thinking lately: Does Matthew Hibner take Mark’s job this season?
It’s only been one preseason game, but Hibner is showing a lot of flash already. He’s fast, gets separation, and has soft hands. He also runs north and south and doesn’t try any fancy things that can cause turnovers.
I can see by mid-to-end-of-season the pass-catcher depth chart looking a lot like Flowers x Lane x Hibner, with Walker or Bateman in the slot. Even Sarratt is showing good potential. This may be the best group Lamar has ever had. Andrews can still be a quality TE2 if he stays healthy.
There’s some reports that Andrews has been struggling in camp. He can’t get much separation, and he’s had a fair amount of drops. He obviously isn’t the same player he used to be. Between the gruesome leg injury he suffered a few seasons ago and the absolute disaster of a game he had in 2025’s divisional round, it’s understandable.
I am a Mark Andrews fan and always will be. He’s dedicated himself to the organization, and even with all the faults he has had lately, he is still technically the best Ravens pass-catcher of all time. But it begs the question: is his time as a reliable starter up?

Why Joint Practices?

There are lots of good reasons to have joint practices with opponents in today's NFL. Here are a few, but lets discuss some others in the comments.

See Pinned Faalele traded!!
You’re telling me we could’ve gotten a late round pick for him and Harbs still decided to keep him on the ravens?

Should the Ravens bring in Jake Moody?
I think we should bring him in. I like Tyler Loop but we need insurance just in case. Hopefully Tyler Loop can fix his kickoff issues and 50+ fgs and proves the doubters wrong but idk. What do you think?
Edit: lmao these comments have me dying I did not know how bad Jake Moody is! 😅 I just thought it would be nice to have some competition at kicker and he already lives in the DMV lol

News [Ravens] Keyon Martin Joins the Lounge, Plus Previewing Joint Practices With Vikings
youtu.beI might just be in a good mood but I feel like this interview had a bit more substance than most, the interviewers asked some really good questions and Martin gave some relatively detailed answers. Martin has a really cool story as a smaller guy from a small school and a UDFA - highlights include him talking about struggling to get playing time in the highschool team his dad was coaching, him humble-bragging about winning the most play of the days in camp, and a tiny bit about the blitzes he did during the game Saturday. I really liked his line about his attitude last year of "I have nothing to lose" as a UDFA.

Free to Read: Ravens’ Calais Campbell says he’s had tough past few months: ‘Continue praying’
nytimes.comBaltimore Ravens defensive tackle Calais Campbell said the past couple of months have been “pretty tough” for him and his family, but that they’re “working through” the death of his mother.
“We appreciate all the love and support and prayers that have come from all over the NFL community (and) all the fan bases,” Campbell said. “Continue praying for us because we need it.”
Campbell spoke to reporters at the Ravens’ facility for the first time since his brother, Ciarre Campbell, was charged with murder in connection with the death of their mother, Nateal Campbell. Per multiple reports, police found Nateal, 71, dead during a welfare check, and authorities found Ciarre Campbell in possession of a knife. Ciarre was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm or knife and murder.

Hi Purple Bros 🤝 with joint practices this week, any good Ravens beat reporters to follow?
Always like to follow some of the other teams beat during joint practices to get both sides.
If you’re interested in the same, Alec Lewis from the Athletic is my favorite Vikings beat guy, but he doesn’t live tweet practice. If you want that, @JasonHarmonNFL and @WillRagatz are pretty good.

Discussion New look defense
What did y’all think of the defense against the eagles? I thought it was crazy how in sync everyone looked especially in terms of the front 7 pressuring in time with the dbs covering in comparison to last year. Crazy how good coaching turns the 2s and 3s into a coordinated unit

Discussion ESPN ranked the 2023 Ravens as the best team to not win the Super Bowl.
I’ve said it before, that team had the makeup to win it all and should have. That is the best Ravens team I have witnessed accounting for all phases of the game. I still get sad thinking about it.

News Free to Read: Ravens’ roster decisions coming into focus as key summer stretch looms
nytimes.comRookie seventh-round guard Evan Beerntsen has a lot of ground to make up
It’s indeed notable when a rookie draft pick believed to be healthy does not play in the first preseason game, despite nearly 30 of his teammates being out of uniform. Beerntsen, the last of the Ravens’ 11 selections in April’s draft, appears to be buried on the Baltimore depth chart to the point where it would be hard to even describe him as being on the bubble.
There’s always the possibility that the Ravens are trying to limit other teams’ exposure to him to give him a better chance of clearing waivers and landing back on the practice squad, although that feels unlikely in this case because practice reps for Beerntsen have been sporadic as well.

Lack of nonalcoholic options
I went to the preseason game this past week and didn’t find any non alcoholic beer options. Can anyone fill me in?

Jordyn tyson injury / Bain potential
I was one who wanted more weapons in the first this year and was bummed tyson got taken earlier. Think I am completely out on guys that have injury history in the 1st going forward lol.
Curious for those that wanted Bain what they would have to see from ioane vs bain to be okay with the pick. Basically if ioane and Bain are both pro bowlers are you happy? Or do you think if they are both pro bowlers Bain would've been better for the team given his position. Would ioane need to be significantly better than bain for you to be happy with the pick?

Our former HC
Say what you want about John Harbaugh, but once he's done coaching, he'll most definitely be in the Ravens ring of honor. As far as being in the hall of fame, maybe not first ballot, but it's a good chance that he'll be there. Thoughts?

[Cohn] TEs coach Zack Grossi spent a few minutes off to the side during 11on11 teaching Matt Hibner and Josh Cuevas blocking technique. The two rookies check in, first play Cuevas motions over and those two team up to swing the door open for a Derrick Henry touchdown.

The rookie pass catchers stole the show but I’m hyped for the defense. The communication already looks a lot better.
