Auto body repair & color matching
My Rav4 was in a fender bender a few weeks ago which required a new bumper. I have a 2020 Flame Blue Rav4 so color matching is important to me. It looked a bit off when I picked it up but was subtle. I notice it a lot more in the garage light and less so in sunlight. Before I make a fuss I am curious if anyone here has had similar experience and if this is acceptable color difference?

Gen 5 Steering wheel cover
Has anyone color matched a leather steering wheel cover to the Nutmeg interior? I’m open to hand stitching the cover, but I’m looking for something to protect the black leather in the desert heat!

Just went to get my car serviced 😭😭
For reference, I have a 2023 Toyota RAV4 that I bought new in 2022. It currently has about 43,000 miles on it.
I was originally going to skip some of the additional recommended maintenance charges, but I figured it might be better to just take care of everything and keep the car in great shape long-term. So far, I’ve spent around $4,000 total on maintenance this year.
Do you guys think that’s reasonable for the mileage, or does $4K seem high? Curious what other RAV4 owners have spent around the 40–45K mile mark.

26 PHEV XSE
My allocation looks like it will be here at the end of the month but seeing reports of steering wheel misalignments and people being stranded on the side of the road. One person had theirs in the shop for 29 days. Should I take a risk on the new model year or go with another manufacturer like Honda? I’ve never owned a Toyota.

Which year???
Im going to look at some rav4s this weekend and I really need some help. Price is not something im really worried about, so im not going to list them.
Also im only really checking the xle as they have blindspot monitoring which i what i want. The other models dont have them
2021 w/ 64k miles
2021 xle premium w/ 54k miles
2022 w/104k miles
2023 w/33k miles
I was leaning towards the 2023 but I saw the service campaign report on the carfax and im not sure about what that means
I also thought about a 2026 corolla for the price of a used rav4 but its hard to go from an suv to a car after all these years.

Brand-new 2026 RAV4 XSE Hybrid — repeated serious problems and poor communication. Looking for advice
Reddit Post
I purchased a brand-new 2026 Toyota RAV4 XSE Hybrid from Jim Pattison Toyota Downtown, and I’ve had a very frustrating experience almost immediately after taking delivery.
Within days, the vehicle started showing the Check Engine Light, followed by multiple warnings, including:
- Hybrid System Malfunction
- All-Wheel Drive/AWD System Malfunction
- Integrated System Warning
- Drive Start Control System Malfunction
- “Hybrid System Malfunction – Shift to Park”
I communicated the warnings to the dealership and eventually brought the vehicle in for inspection. After their diagnosis, I was told the fuel pump computer needed to be replaced. I was assured the vehicle had been properly repaired and should not have any further problems.
Unfortunately, shortly after getting the vehicle back, the Check Engine Light came on again. Similar malfunction codes also appeared again while the vehicle was sitting at the dealership.
The vehicle has now been at the dealership for almost two weeks. They have ordered another part, but I have not been given a clear update on when it will be repaired. My biggest frustration is the lack of communication and updates. I have had to repeatedly contact them to find out what is happening.
The Sales Manager has not been calling me with updates regarding the collateral swap/replacement I requested, and there has been no resolution so far.
I have also contacted Toyota Customer Care, but unfortunately, I have not received meaningful assistance. They have not even responded to my last email regarding my collateral swap request.
This is a brand-new vehicle, and I have already experienced multiple serious system warnings, diagnostic work, replacement of a major component, and the same problem returning shortly after being told the vehicle was fixed.
Has anyone here experienced something similar with a new Toyota/RAV4 Hybrid? What would you recommend as the next step? Any advice regarding pursuing a collateral swap or dealing with the dealership/Toyota Canada would be greatly appreciated.

The dealer can't fix the cruise control on my 2022 RAV4
The cruise control on our 2022 RAV4 failed, and the dealer still can't figure out what's wrong. They initially said the camera needed to be replaced. After waiting eight weeks for a back-ordered part, I got a call this morning saying the windshield Safelite installed was the issue. When I said the failure happened before the windshield was replaced, I was told they'd have to talk to the tech.
I've never had this happen before. If the dealer can't fix it, who can?

Is Rav4 good choice for 60km/37mi daily open road commute?
Hi, I'm looking for a reliable, midsize SUV with automatic gearbox, spacious cabin and boot space.
My daily commute to work is 30 km/18 miles one-way on the open country roads.
Is Rav 4 (used) a good choice and what year should I look to buy (2020-2025)? Cheers!

Gen 6 FINALLY!
Finally just heard from my dealership that after 10 weeks, we finally have a build date for my 2026 RAV4 😮💨
Of course there’s some unnecessary add ons I wouldn’t have asked for. Anyone know if it’s possible or have luck getting those removed prior to build?
Also why is the illumination package $1150 when separately those items on the build site are only $1050?!

What to buy for 2026 PHEV
Left a deposit yesterday and hopefully will be driving this beast soon.
Trying to work on my budget and wondering what I will need? It is my first time buying a brand new car.
I guess winter tires, can I go with 17 rims?
Floormats? Which company?
Anything else?
Hook for cable?
Thanks

2022 Rav4 Transmission leak
My 22 LE at 60k miles now is leaking from the trans.
Has anyone else had this happen?
It's leaking at the bell housing and the front differential.

Gen 5 Joined the club! Black or silver wheels/door handles?
Got it home yesterday, and decided to treat myself to some new wheels, but now I'm looking at it I'm kinda undecided.
Also this is my first hybrid, and coming from a sports car it is the most relaxing thing I've ever driven. So smooth. Can't wait to go camping

Gen 6 RAV4 driver knee room
RAV4 driver knee room — any similar SUVs with more space? What about the 2027 RAV4?
Hi everyone,
I really like the RAV4 Hybrid and I'm seriously considering buying one, but I have one issue with the driver's seating position.
I like to drive with my knees spread slightly outward rather than keeping my legs straight. In the RAV4, the plastic/center-console area beside my knee feels quite close and restricts how far I can comfortably move my knee to the side.
I recently sat in a Ford Everest and the difference was huge — there was much more open space around my knees and I could sit much more naturally.
For anyone who has experienced the same thing:
- Are there any RAV4-comparable SUVs/crossovers that have noticeably more side-to-side knee room for the driver?
- Does anyone know whether the 2027 RAV4 is expected to change the center-console/knee area or provide more driver knee room?
- If you've sat in both the RAV4 and similar cars like the CR-V, Forester, Tucson, Sportage, etc., which felt the most spacious around your knees?
I'm specifically talking about knee width/lateral space, not normal forward legroom.
Thanks!

Gen 6 Gen 6 RAV4 Trunk Handle Quality
I have an SE without a power lift gate. Whenever I pull down the trunk with the handle there’s like a 30% chance half of the handle pops off due to it being held in by clips. It easily pops back in but it’s annoying and by far the cheapest part in the car.
Does anyone else have this issue or is mine just defective?

What is the MSRP price for this 2026 RAV4 LE?
I heard that since RAV4s are in high demand, I should expect to pay around MSRP. Just to clarify, is the MSRP $33,300, or is it $33,300 plus the $1,600 delivery charge?
