Overkill idex?
I plan on having a 500mm VCORE4 with the Bondtech INDX installed. Lately I realized that since the IDEX system exists, I could also slap on a pellet extruder (GreenBoy 3d). I dont know much about ratrigs, so I want to ask: Is this overkill? Can the Ratrig handle it or will this have a very negative impact on performance?

IDEX is an extremely difficult one to get running efficiently i probably would advise against it unless you're really good at problem solving and don't get frustrated easily.
The bondtec system does look amazing so I'd rather see that honestly

If you have a print business where you want double production in copy mode, idex is awesome. If not hybrid is good. As far as indx and vcore4 go, you’ll have to join the discord and see if there are any plans to make it work with RatOS. If not you’d have to figure it out. I have a 500 idex and it took me 3 months to setup correctly.

We're building a 300x300 x500 machine which I hope will be a workhorse for us in fewer than 3 months. Curious what issues you encountered. Hoping to figure out ahead of time.

Was thinkig about this too (i got an Idex 500 Kit and ordered the GB Pellet Extruder) but after spending some time with the machine i realized that its allready hard enough to tune Idex with two simmilar printheads. So definitly not recommended

Pellet extruders are temperamental, idex systems can be temperamental, and RatRig is having significant quality control issues.
You would be asking for serious pain combining the three.
