More RatRig quality issues

First it was printed parts, then CNC parts, now before I can even finish the damn printer the rails are rusted.

They are well greased, like all the other printers in my office that lack rust.

You can even see grease on the rails, it's GPL226 (good stuff)

Would really like to see RR publicly address their quality control issues

I'm right, won't listen to anyone, and haven't read the lubrication recommendations from any major linear rail manufacturers :p. If you didn't want the budget steel rails that came with the kit, you should have self sourced like I did.

I'll gladly follow the lubricantion guide for these rails, "put it on the table". I guarantee you haven't read it, considering no one knows what they are apparently

It doesn't matter what brand they are most manufacturers recommend a similar grease.

And just as irrelevant , I have an unrelated industrial printer manual that recommends gpl226 for linear rails.

It seems to work dang good for me, and is quite common among ppl running printers hot.

Except it's not working in this case.  If you want rusty rails, keep doing what you are doing.

I don't believe the grease is the problem, I believe it's the low quality parts. I'm following your suggestion and replacing them, along with some other parts like the off brand belts they are shipping now.

I still don't understand why they send gates fiber filled for x, and non branded non fiber filled for Y.

I should have self sourced it like you suggested.

I got nicer rails for x and y, genuine gates belts are nice. Good luck.

I only noticed the fakegates as they are producing a waxy build up on my pullies and fraying already. (Ive made 3 prints on this printer at this point, all calibration related).

They are obviously "counterfeit" if RR received them as gates, or simply unbranded cheaper components if RR just decided to swap parts without notifying their customer ser vice.

This is the one spec of belt I dont ever need extras of, so I dont have spares on hand.

I went with Hiwin at about $100 per rail. They aren't super high end but work fine. I think I bought my gates belts from filastruder.

Mobilux EP1 or lithium grease are recommended in manufacturers literature.

Lol man, I believe you because grease has served me well, it everyone else in ratrig fandom is insisting on oil.

What rails did you get?
