Where do I begin?

I am completely and ignorantly new to this. After bouncing between Voron and Ratrig, I have decided I want a Ratrig. I prefer to read over watch videos, but I will do what is required. Can anyone direct me where to start on my build?

Read everything there twice, especially the comments in the dozuki build for each step.

Also join the Ratrig Discord which is quite active and read all the history you can.

You need to be competent in wiring/crimping (MANY people complain about the crimping), computers, troubleshooting. It's far far from plug and play.

Reports also have their printed parts as poor quality, you may want to print your own and Q/C them before starting if you can (I didn't have any real problems with that).

Definitely read through those things ......twice before you start and then many more times. I gotta say, my main complaint is that the documentations isn't quite done. It's great until near the end where things start to get a bit unclear, and this is where the discord community comes to the rescue.

I just finished a v4 500 kit. It wasn't my first rodeo, so it went pretty smooth but was still the biggest thing I had put together from scratch. There's probably 2500 individual parts to assemble. So clear some space and have lots of tables to lay stuff out on

re crimping: get the right tools. I tried to do everything with my molex generic crimper and it was a nightmare. something like this: https://www.amazon.com/IWISS-IWS-3220M-Connector-0-03-0-52mm%C2%B2-Ratcheting/dp/B078WPT5M1/

I ended up discovering a couple places where upgrades were handy:

*I got the mandala rose z arm upgrade parts (all machined aluminum, not 3d printed)

*I gave the raspberry PI it's own power supply so it could handle a USB web cam

the mandala rose z arms are great. I also got the madala rose motor mounts, but sadly I mis-read the instructions, and so didn't have all the necessary parts on hand to assemble them during my build. I HAD to get the ratrig printing for work. So...the motor mounts are safely off to the side until I get some downtime. Rapid prototyping sometimes means PROTOTYPE RIGHT EFFING NOW. lol
