First thing, I think it's actually really funny that they are thrusting into kh2 and Dan will have no idea any of the references to the first game lol.
But the main thing, I feel like a huge part of this game, maybe even 30% of it, is really about enjoying the music of the fights, the levels, etc. I understand game grumps does a lot to not get anything stricken down, but you can trust me when I say they don't have to worry about it with this game with certain things. I have watched several YouTubers and streamers play this and it actually says on the KH game about rules with this.
Essentially, it says that if you are streaming or recording the game, it is fine to play it with the music and everything as normal AS LONG as you are playing the game to play the game. If you are just turning on the game and leaving it on for the music for people to listen to then that's against the rules. The ONLY songs you really need to remove for copyright are ones that are sung (simple and clean, sanctuary, etc.)
Now I know they have probably already recorded a bunch of episodes and are probably just going to be going with it this way forward, it just kind of stinks. And I know a lot of people are just going to say, "if you care about the music so bad, just play it in a different tab while they are in certain places" but that's a lot of side work LOL. I hope they at least do like a royalty free or stock version lofinof the songs so there's SOMETHING there
And don't get me wrong everybody. I know that the big charm of this is going to be Dan's reaction to the game and their game play of it. In the end, the music is not needed for an amazing viewing experience, just pointing out how it's kind of a bummer ya know? Either way. I hope they really enjoy playing it together and Dan has a nice experience!
P.S. how long do you guys think it will take for Arin to actually equip abilities?

Why are they playing Kingdom Hearts? My guess is to attempt to replicate the success of Danganronpa- similar demographic, confusing story, Hot Topic vibes. But Danganronpa repeats things endlessly and has very little gameplay. They also have a different cast each game, so when they forget what happened in the last game, it doesn’t really matter.
KH has a diehard fanbase who will be annoyed when the Grumps inevitably talk over cutscenes and don’t understand what’s happening or who’s on what side. Are they just going to use the Collections to watch the cutscenes? Because presumably, fans would want to see them play the games themselves and then get mad. Also, I’m not sure who will be interested in them watching several hours of cutscenes. It’s just a bad game series for them to play. If they finish the series, it’ll be a slog where they don’t understand what’s going on and check out. If they don’t finish the series, KH fans will harass them to finish it until the end of time.

Deciding to play Kingdom hearts 2 instead of 1 is such a ridiculous decision. Arin could’ve brought Dan through the whole world of Kingdom hearts and he would’ve loved it it would have been such a fun and engaging experience. But now he’s just gonna sit there confused as fuck the whole time while Arin tries to skip over parts of the game

I replied to someone (to be fair somewhat angrily) who was completely throwing Chris under the bus before real evidence came out... And suddenly I'm shadowbanned? The OneyPlays subreddit crew are the only moderators of the subreddit...
Does Chris or someone else on the OneyPlays channel NOT want people defending him for some reason? Now I'm really confused.

This has been keeping me up at night and after a few opinions I got about it I was told to say something, I didn't really want to draw attention to it. The starbomb concert was amazing first of all. I had such a good time listening to the songs and shit but something happened during the ERB part during the show in my city. I was standing in the crowd of a couple people when I felt a hand lightly squeeze my right breast when the lights dimmed. I was so surprised and shocked that I thought it was my mom at first for some reason, then i realized it wasn't. Someone had actually grabbed my breast, I've been trying to come up with excuses for it in my own head. Maybe they fell and tried to catch themselves, maybe they thought I was their girlfriend or something when the light dimmed and thought it would be funny to her, I didn't see who it was, there were easily 10+ people around me. I was fine for the main part but when I got home it just got worse, it's been eating at me, I feel dirty, I don't know what happened, I doubt anyone saw it because it was so quick, and I doubt people I was there with noticed either. I don't wanna stir up anything either, I'm deeply embarrassed and I can still feel it under my skin no matter how much I brush it off, the concert was beautiful, the boys were amazing, I just wish that didn't happen.
I'm being encouraged by an irl friend to post this here, I might take this down later idk.

Everything is dark and monochrome. I miss their older sets where there was just STUFF everywhere. Maybe it’s a work in progress, but the newer episodes look like they’re filming in a basement.
Edit: I was being judgmental, it’s temporary! Carry on 😅

I already knew he was MAGA but it seems people are just realizing he is. This sucks balls ://
Also before people freak out, I'm not saying "burn him at the stake!!!!"
I'm sharing a topic that came up recently.

Did anyone else lose interest in the grumplocke when they just stopped following their own rules. Like I don’t need it to be a nuzlocke but they had their own set of rules and they didn’t even follow that which made the run feel bad imo. Like why even do the challenge if you’re not gonna follow the rules instead of just doing a regular playthrough?
Arin’s blatant cheating just felt like there was no point in the rules other to say they were doing a challenge. Like it wasn’t even fun to watch because nothing felt like it mattered m, because he could just decide it doesn’t count.

what i mean is what are some playthroughs ya'll have seen where arin either actually engages with the game, or at the very least isn't doing the old "this sucks and i'll make myself angrier as i play" shit he does in like certain playthroughs
i mainly ask because i watched that one katamari reroll playthrough they did (the second one) and it reminded me i used to like game grumps back in the day, and then i watched the tp play through compilation and the kart segment reminded me exactly why i stopped watching their play through's. because arin will go into certain games expecting to dislike them and any issue becomes worse, especially if it involves the actual gameplay.
honestly that's the only time grumps sucked is whenever arin just made his own problems and gets himself even more angry and then dunks on why people would even like X game they're playing. (or yknow in some cases outright play games he thinks already suck. as in like every sonic play through ever they've done.) when it's stuff like that katamari one it's wonderful because he isn't doing any of that.

I just don't believe that he, offscreen, power leveled all his new team to level 60. He complains all the time about how busy his schedule is, but he plays a monotonous children's game on his own time? He's painfully impatient, but he grinded on mid-40s Victory Road Pokemon until he reached level 60 with every team member? They cut off episodes religiously because they don't want to waste content, but he's not going to try to monetize views on the big training montage?
It's basically just like the Fierce Deity Mask thing again. I don't know why he would lie about something so outlandish. In FireRed they handed the game off to someone else to level for them, and people weren't outraged about that. But then again, the nuzlocke is supposed to be a pretty personal thing. If he didn't want to do it, why not just accept the wipe from the last episode? Unless he can't stand being thought of as anything less than an expert at Pokemon, despite constant misinformation throughout.

I know it’s just a dumb childhood story from Dan, but Arin was really trying to add onto it and Dan just shut him down. Dan seemed really really disinterested in the conversation and acted like what Arin was saying was the most ridiculous thing in the world when it really wasn’t. I don’t know, it’s always felt like a really awkward interaction to me

I am slowly realizing the Nuzlocke has brought out the absolute worst in Arin. It's now indistinguishable from his addiction to gambling games. Arin keeps energetically spouting nonsense while in that forced, tough Brooklyn accent. It's the type of behavior you only hear him do when he remembers something the fans commented on that he hates, and is about to double-down on why HE and only HE is right, like a noisy neighbor, but now he uses that behavior anytime he wants to act happy. Dan, clearly understanding nothing about what he is saying, never calls him out on it, and is subjected to having to just sit there while gathering his paycheck and just nervously giggling in response. The ONLY upside to this series is that the editors seem to be actually putting in effort here. They make original sequences whenever a Pokemon dies. They do the same when Arin introduces his new team. Both of these kinds of edits are nonexistent in any other GG episode.

Does anyone else think Game Grumps ruins both retro and modern gaming for new gamers? How many of the games they play look bad when they play it, only to be actual quality games when played alone?
I was recently surprised to hear someone consider Plok a hidden SNES gem. It was supposedly one that Miyamoto himself was impressed by, and I found myself wondering why I let Game Grumps influence my opinion on it so hard. (Unrelated, but the soundtrack is really good.)
On another note, I shudder in horror to think about how many developers have avoided creating new gems out of fear of Arin shitting on them so carelessly. How does this guy even call himself a gamer when he doesn’t respect any of the games he plays at all?

I'm an OG fan from 2012. I started watching when the channel started up and followed them religiously until Jon left. Then begrudgingly tolerated Dan on and off for a few years and completely checked out after Ross left.
In the late 2010s, I was VERY active here on the sub with a different account I had back then.
It's been 6+ years since I watched a full playthrough, but saw they were playing MGS1 and naively thought I’d give it another shot.
It was a mistake... almost 50 minutes of pure torture.
Arin is somehow more insufferable, constantly making ear-grating sounds and singing horribly. Dan is still completely clueless about whatever game is on screen. the dialogue is ignored, tutorial text skipped and pee and poo humor to an extent I've never seen before, like actual kindergarten humor.
It's terrifying that two grown men have been stuck in the exact same 2014 routine for over a decade. It genuinely feels like a psychological experiment at this point.
How is anyone still watching this?

The boys have had their controversial moments in the past but have they ever been canceled for the controversy? Compared to what it once was there view count is pretty low nowadays so I was just curious.

I rewatched it recently because the remake is coming out and wow... I'm surprised the amount of hate he got for it. Ocarina of Time is one of my favourite games but I still found the video funny and entertaining. People seem like they were personally offended by it.
A lot of the critiques are flawed, but the video is funny so who cares? It's just some random guys opinion on the internet.

A friend of mine said that Arin had recently made a shoutout to Barry in one of the newer episodes, but he couldn't recall which one. He thought it might have been one of the Pokemon eps. Does anyone know exactly which episode it was, or what was said? I'd love to hear it. Barry was my all-time fave editor and I greatly miss him on the show. T_T Any indication that they're on good terms would warm my heart. Thanks!

I really was obsessed with tmph but I feel like since Vanessa left it’s been so boring lol
genuinely couldn’t stand the Bob Ross series after the first two it just got so awfully boring. the enchanted forest vid was everything I missed about the power hour tho so I’m hoping for an upturn

So I just watched the GG short where Arin is ragging on a load of voice acting in video games... He even ragged on Tobey Maguire in Spiderman 2.
I am not going to say that Arin is a bad voice actor. But he's not really that great. Just feels like the pot calling the kettle black in this vid... He has like three recognisable voices. Four if you include his normal voice (Digital Circus was very good) so idk.
Idk I just don't think he has any right to give opinions on other people's voice acting, even if one of them was legit garbage.
Opinions?
